The biggest mass funeral in Gaza was held this week for 112 people (including 44 children) that were killed in an Israeli strike on a residential block in 2023.
Their bodies were only recently recovered from the rubble in an operation that spanned across two weeks.
One conviction I hold strongly is that the greatest gift a parent can give a child is healthy self-esteem. Skills can be learned, opportunities can come and go, but believing you have inherent worth and the confidence to engage the world shapes almost everything that follows.
The Sudanese woman in the pink hijab said:
“I say this to the Muslim leaders: Stay in your castles, wear our hijabs, and hand over your weapons. We deserve them more than you. You are cowards, sitting on the thrones built from the bones of the children of Gaza”
If you believe investing in education is important, here are some links below for students who survived the gen0cide in Gaza and Sudan!! If this is not something that concerns you FEEL free to skip. THANK YOU🩷
Today I$rael tried to kill me in a targeted airstrike in southern Lebanon as I was reporting on was the targeting of bridges and the forced displacement of 1 million people, an ethnic cleansing operation on a larger scale than the Nakba
I have absolutely no doubt that this was deliberate. Despite claims there were no warnings ahead of the strike and no notifications sent to the Lebanese Army who allowed us to film
As we have seen in Gaza they want to silence journalists who document and report their war crimes
It is the western powers who provide political and military support for I$rael, arming it to the teeth to carry out genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing here in Lebanon. They are not simply complicit, but active participants and should be held accountable for their actions.
But if I$rael thinks today’s strike will silence us and keep us out of the field they are very, very mistaken
Happy Women’s Day to the South Asian women domestic workers enduring exploitation in the Gulf states, and to the resilient women of Palestine, Iran, Lebanon, Congo, Sudan, and everywhere resisting injustice.
No civilian should die in wars. Our approach is that every life is as precious as our own. We jealously guard our non-aligned policy while ensuring that humanitarian values and the saving of lives remain our top priority.
What the world urgently needs today is peace. There is a real risk of a severe global economic crisis, and entire societies are facing serious and complex challenges.
We call upon all parties to demonstrate a firm commitment to peace. As a state, Sri Lanka stands ready to support every step toward ending hostilities. All our actions are aimed at saving lives and ensuring that humanity prevails.
