I had a fruitful interaction with primary school teachers, education managers, local government chairmen and other stakeholders on issues relating to teachers’ welfare, particularly concerns arising from salary adjustments and the implementation of the new minimum wage.
As a teacher and former labour leader, I understand these concerns and I have directed the immediate constitution of a high-powered committee to thoroughly review all genuine complaints and submit its report within one month. Let me assure our teachers that no legitimate concern will be ignored.
My administration remains committed to the welfare of teachers and the development of education. We will continue to take practical steps to strengthen the sector and ensure that those entrusted with shaping the future of our children receive the attention and support they deserve.
Looking forward to joining colleagues from across the globe at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (@ASCO) Annual Meeting for an important discussion on mentorship, leadership, awareness, and breaking down structural barriers in cancer care.

Eid al-adha
Mubarak! *
May Allah grant us good health, long life, and endless joy.🙏🏻❤️
Gov. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), the Emir of Gwandu, and top officials joined faithful at the Central Eid Mosque, Gesse Phase II, Birnin Kebbi, for Eid prayers in a peaceful atmosphere.
As we celebrate this blessed occasion of Eid al-Adha, I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim Ummah and the good people of Kebbi State.
Eid al-Adha reminds us of the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, compassion and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS). It is also a period for love, unity, generosity and extending support to those around us. The significance of Eid al-Adha is rooted in Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion and sacrifice in Islamic tradition.
I urge our people to continue to uphold these values and use this blessed season to pray for peace, unity and continued progress in Kebbi State and Nigeria. Let us also remember to support the less privileged and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood within our communities.
On behalf of the Government and people of Kebbi State, I wish you and your families a peaceful, joyful and blessed Eid celebration.
Eid Mubarak.
I am delighted by the peaceful and successful conduct of the APC direct presidential primary election across Kebbi State and the overwhelming support shown for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The massive turnout and votes recorded across our polling units, particularly in my ward, clearly demonstrate the confidence our people have in his leadership and the Renewed Hope Agenda. APC adopted the direct primary mode nationwide, allowing party members to participate directly in the process.
I sincerely appreciate our leaders, stakeholders, party members and the good people of Kebbi State for once again standing together and showing commitment to our great party, the APC.

One voice. One movement. One choice.
I joined our hardworking men and women at the Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi to commemorate the 2026 Workers’ Day celebration.
I am delighted by the excellent industrial harmony we continue to enjoy in Kebbi State, which reflects the mutual understanding, cooperation, and shared commitment between government and labour unions. I urge all stakeholders to sustain this momentum for the continued progress of our dear state.
As someone who has been part of the labour struggle, I deeply appreciate the vital role workers play in shaping policies and driving development. Our administration remains committed to inclusive governance, where the welfare of workers is given utmost priority.
We will continue to ensure prompt payment of salaries and all entitlements, while also prioritizing training and retraining to enhance productivity and boost morale across the workforce.
In line with this commitment, we have implemented a new minimum wage of ₦75,000, constructed and distributed 500 houses to workers, recruited thousands of teachers and health personnel, and invested significantly in healthcare and infrastructure to improve service delivery.
I am encouraged by the acknowledgment and support of organised labour, and I assure you that we will continue to work together to address challenges, including insecurity and poverty, which remain barriers to decent work.
I received officials from @UNICEF_Nigeria, @WHONigeria, and @UNDPNigeria during a courtesy visit at the State Council Chamber, where they commended Kebbi State Government’s investments in primary healthcare delivery and our sustained efforts toward polio eradication across the state.
I deeply appreciate the kind words, support, and recognition from these esteemed development partners. Their commendation is a strong encouragement for us to continue prioritizing healthcare, social welfare, and inclusive governance for the benefit of our people.
Our administration remains committed to strengthening the health sector through deliberate and impactful interventions. So far, we have revitalized 22 General Hospitals, 179 Primary Healthcare Centres, and 63 dispensaries across the state. We have also enrolled over 45,000 vulnerable persons into the State Health Insurance Scheme and recruited more than 2,000 health workers to improve service delivery.
In addition, we approved ₦1.7 billion for the revitalization of more Primary Healthcare Centres and ₦1.3 billion for the procurement of medical equipment, all aimed at ensuring accessible and quality healthcare services for our people.
On polio eradication, we remain fully committed to sustaining routine immunization, strengthening collaboration with traditional and religious leaders, and ensuring no child is left behind in our efforts to eliminate vaccine-derived polio.
I also appreciate @UNICEF_Nigeria for the donation of 45 motorcycles to support healthcare personnel in hard-to-reach communities, as this will further strengthen service delivery at the grassroots.
We will continue to work closely with our development partners in advancing healthcare, education, security, and economic development for a healthier and more prosperous Kebbi State.
