I don't like the “fiction effects reality” argument because it's essentially assuming your morality is either so low or so weak that seeing something depicted in fiction, written on paper, or shown on a screen will effect your morals and how you interact with the real world.
pernah gasih lu nangis ngeliat daily vlog ppl di europe, jp, sg? GW NANGIS karna kayak.. they are living their best life in a proper country, and here i am menjalani kehidupan WNI yg bahkan gw gatau segi mana yg bisa gw syukuri
Crazy how
- professional therapists say creating "problematic" art is good
- Law enforcement says reporting fictional drawings is clogging real reports.
- Scholarly articles say it's harmless to enjoy dark media
And pigheaded antis STILL think they're in the right 🫠
[2/2] And now I begin to understand why they had to put the disclaimer. Because some people really don't know how to separate fiction from reality. They think if we're liking problematic media or character, it's equal to supporting that kind of behavior IRL.
When I was a child, everytime I read "This is a work of fiction. Blablabla-", I couldn't help but think, "Of course, duh! Who's stupid enough to take fictional setting seriously and think that fictional characters are capable of harming them for real?!" [1/2]

people are getting increasingly parasocial and treat liking/hating certain characters as a form of activism. they can't distinguish fiction from reality, so they also assume that anyone who can engage with problematic characters must agree with their immoral actions.
it's always "i like morally grey characters and villains" until said character does something you personally deem too immoral, and suddenly it's "actually, this character is awful, and anyone who likes them must be morally reprehensible themselves."
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
This is why I can’t take online arguments seriously anymore because a lot of people online have black & white thinking when a majority of all problems are in the grey area and IT DEPENDSSSSSSS, IT ALMOST ALWAYS DEPENDSSSSS, NOTHING IS DEFINITE BC IT DEPENDSSSS 😭
-anf Suka banget sama chemistry 2 couple ini, yg cowo ngelakuin apapun demi menghindari bad ending. Tapi, tetep nyari chance buat nyelametin wanita yg mereka cintai, trus cewenya jg gak minta diselamatin yg penting cegah dulu bad endingnya 10/10👍
