After more than a decade of watching YouTube, writing code, creating content on and off, building and shipping apps, and working across both an MNC and a high-growth Indian startup, I’ve come to a fairly simple conclusion:

Building the product is only half the story. Marketing and distribution are what determine whether the story is ever heard.

You can have an exceptional product, great engineering, remarkable quality, or even the finest fragrance in a perfume but none of that matters if you cannot get the product into the customer’s hands in the first place.

What matters is how you present the product, how you sell the idea, what emotion you create, and how effectively you reach the right person.

Quality matters. Product matters. Engineering matters.

But they are secondary to the fundamental question:

How do you get someone to notice your product, care about it, and ultimately put it in their hands?

That, in my opinion, is where marketing and distribution become the real game.

Fun little iPhone detail: those two icons aren’t actually the same Wi-Fi symbol.

• Wi-Fi icon → connected to a regular Wi-Fi network
• Chain icon → connected through another device’s Personal Hotspot (Mainly another iPhone)

Same wireless experience, different source of the internet.

iOS quietly tells you where your connection is coming from. Pretty neat.
