I had already paid ₹680 for the Tatanagar–Ranchi journey, but was additionally charged ₹985 from Howrah–Tatanagar instead of the original fare of ₹715, along with a penalty of around ₹1,000.

@IRCTCofficial I was onboard the train and there was no proper internet connection during the journey, so I could not tweet at that time.
The main point is that such overcharging issues should be properly addressed so that passengers do not face the same problem in future.

Why should passengers in a premium train have to argue over food pricing to avoid possible overcharging? Requesting @IRCTCofficial and @RailMinIndia to ensure transparent onboard food pricing in Rajdhani trains.

On 9th May 2026,I travelled in Rajdhani Express(12454) from New Delhi to Ranchi with NO FOOD selected during booking for 3 passengers.
During the journey,pantry staff generated a food bill of ₹1125 for snack and lunch ordered onboard.

Even after adding those service charges, the total still appeared inflated compared to official IRCTC rates. Only after repeated questioning and showing screenshots, the payable amount was reduced from ₹1125 to ₹875.

When I later checked the official IRCTC meal rates, the amount did not match the actual pricing shown officially
After speaking to the pantry manager, I was told that an onboard service charge of ₹50 per passenger per meal is added when food is booked inside the train.

Ordered a hoodie from @AJIOLife and got a different cum defective item .Now the actual item which I was to order is out of stock.Had this terrible experience a month back as well from this app. Lame customer service.
