दस रूपये का लाइटर, माई फुट!!!

हमारे बगल मे एक देश है- चीन। दुनिया के सबसे सस्ते डिस्पोजेबल सिगरेट लाइटर वहाँ बनते हैं। 2025 मे उसने 3.90 अरब लाइटर निर्यात किये। इसके लिए भारी रिसर्च और डेवलपमेंट किया।

ब्यूटेन लाइटर के मुख्य कंपोनेंट होते हैं- प्लास्टिक बॉडी केस, उसमे भरा लिक्विड ब्यूटेन, इसके मुहाने पर मेटल का नोजल जिससे गैस निकलती है।

इसमें एक छोटी स्प्रिंग, औऱ ईग्निशन सिस्टम का स्पार्क व्हील होता है। एक प्लास्टिक का थम्ब बटन, जिसे दबाने से गैस वाल्व खुलता है और साथ में स्पार्क होता है।

इसमें सील, गैसकेट या कॉटन पैड मिलाकर करीब छोटे कंपोनेंट होते हैं।

इस तरह विदेशी लाइटर मे 15 से 20 की लागत आती है। मगर चीन ने इसे 3 रूपये के नीचे बनाता है। औऱ होलसेलर रिटेलर से होकर हमें 10 रु का मिलता है।

पहला तरीका - भारी ऑटोमेशन। याने पहले 10 लाख लाइटर बनाने में लगभग 1000 मजदूर लगते थे। अब ऑटोमैटिक इंजेक्शन मोल्डिंग, वेल्डिंग, गैस भरने और असेंबली मशीनों से कई गुना उत्पादन मुट्ठी भर लोगों से हो जाता है। सो प्रति लाइटर मजदूरी लागत लगभग 0.1 युआन से घटकर 0.02 युआन से भी कम हो गई।

दूसरा तरीका - सप्लाई चेन क्लस्टर। याने सभी छोटे पार्ट्स कुछ किमी दायरे की दर्जनों छोटी फैक्टरियों से आते हैं। प्लास्टिक ग्रेन्यूल और गैस के अलावा बाकी चीजें स्थानीय हैँ, तो ट्रांसपोर्ट और इन्वेंटरी कॉस्ट बहुत कम हो जाती है।

तीसरा- सस्ता मटेरियल और पतला डिजाइन। बॉडी सस्ते प्लास्टिक की मोल्डिंग से बनती है। दीवारें जितनी पतली हो सकती हैं उतनी पतली रखी जाती हैं, ताकि प्लास्टिक की खपत घटे।

चौथा - प्रोसेस इंटिग्रेशन। जटिल पार्ट्स की मैन्युफैक्चरिंग स्टेप्स सौ से घटाकर दो-तीन कर दी गईं। गैस भरना, सीलिंग और टेस्टिंग भी ऑटोमैटिक लाइन पर होती है।

पाँचवा - डिज़ाइन स्टैंडर्डाइजेशन। एक ही बेसिक शेप और मैकेनिज्म बार-बार कॉपी होता है। नया R&D कम लगता है; पैसा ऑटोमेशन और प्रोसेस सुधार पर जाता है। प्रोडक्ट इनोवेशन पर नहीं।

बात यही नहीं टिकी।

गैस हॉफ फिल्ड रहती है जिससे जल्दी खत्म हो जाए। उसमें रिफिल का छेद नहीं होता तो 100-50 सिगरेट जलाने के बाद, आपको हर बार, नया लाइटर ही खरीदना है।

कोई विज्ञापन ब्रांडिंग खर्च नहीं। सिगरेट पीनी है, तो इसे खरीदना पड़ेगा। लाइटर की गोलाई और चौड़ाई को इस तरह से एडजस्ट किया गया की 10000 लाइटर पर 1500 लाइटर और एक ही कार्टून में घुस जाए।

इससे एक ही कंटेनर में कुछ लाख अतिरिक्त लाइटर भेजे जा सकते हैं। प्रति लाइटर ढूलाई खर्च घट जाता है। क़ीमत औऱ भी कम..

आज दुनिया के किसी भी कोने मे बिकने वाले 10 में से 7 लाइटर, यही चीनी लाइटर हैँ। जबकि इसका अविष्कार चीनियो ने नहीं किया।

दरअसल इस तरह के लाइटर को फ्लिंट लाइटर कहते हैं। 1903 में ऑस्ट्रिया के वैज्ञानिक फ्लिंट ने इसका आविष्कार किया था। यानी चीन एक नकलची देश है, उसके पास कोई बौद्धिक संपदा नहीं है।

हमारे पास है। तो पिछले 15 सालों में चीन की जनता सस्ते लाइटर बनाने, बेचने- उसकी कीमत घटाने को माथा रगड रही था- हमने बेहतर आविष्कार किये।

हमने राम मंदिर बनाया।
शौचालय बनाएं।

लाडली बहनों को खाते में पैसा दिया। 80 करोड लोगों को अनाज दिया। पेट्रोल मे इथेनोॉल मिलाया। जी रामजी के तहत मजदूरी डेढ़ सौ दिन की कर दी। एग्जाम के पहले ही बच्चों को परीक्षाओ के पेपर मुहैया करवाये।

हमने अपने हिंदू गर्व को दुनिया में ऊंचा उठाया। विदेश में रैलियां निकाली। दुनिया के हर नेता के साथ फोटो खिंचाया। हमने कांग्रेस को 100 से ऊपर चुनाव में हराया। शहजादे को पप्पू बनाकर, औऱ उसकी इटालियन मां की गन्दी तस्वीरें बनाई।

रही टेक्नोलजी की, तो भईया, न जापान, न जर्मनी, न रूस, अमेरिका, फ़्रांस, ब्रिटेन। हम ही दुनिया के अकेले देश हैं, हम जो इलेक्ट्रोनिक वोटिंग मशीन से वोट करता है।

Election Commission's own software is filing objections against Indian voters, and then the same officials are deleting them.
This is not an allegation. It is in @the_hindu by @sreeparna_c ,today.

During Phases 2 and 3 of the SIR, ERONet automatically generated Form 7s the form used to seek a voter's deletion. Each one carried the digital signature of the Electoral Registration Officer. That is the officer who is supposed to be the neutral judge. Here, the judge became the complainant.

ECI's own rulebook does not allow this. Under the Manual on Electoral Rolls, 2024, an ERO cannot file a Form 7. Only a voter from the same roll can object. Party agents are capped at 10 objections a day. Bulk objections must be personally cross verified. Field verification by the BLO is mandatory.
So how were more than 87,000 names reportedly deleted this way in Uttar Pradesh & more than 95,000 in Uttarakhand? How did officers in Delhi end up named as "objectors" against their own voters?

There is no written order and no SOP. ECI has not even replied to the newspaper's query.
When a constitutional body deletes lakhs of citizens without a written rule, it is not a revision. It is a disenfranchisement drive.

Nation demands that the Election Commission:
🔹Disclose who authorised ERONet to generate these objections.
🔹Publish the state-wise and constituency-wise list of every voter deleted through auto-generated Form 7s.
🔹Prove that BLO field verification was done for each one.
🔹Personally notify every affected voter and restore wrongly deleted names before any election.
🔹Freeze this process until a lawful, written SOP is placed before the public.

The vote is the one power every Indian holds equally. We will not allow it to be erased by a software default and a silent Commission.

गृहमंत्री अमित शाह ने SIR और वोट चोरी पर बयान दिया? बीजेपी की जीत की आड़ में अमित शाह वोट चोरी के आरोपों को नकारना चाहते हैं मगर पहले यह आरोप चुनाव आयोग पर लगा है फिर बीजेपी पर। जिस जीत की बात अमित शाह कर रहे हैं उसी पर चुनाव आयोग से सवाल है।राजनीतिक दल के रूम में बीजेपी को जनता का समर्थन है, इससे कौन इंकार कर रहा है, जनता का समर्थन तो सभी दलों को है, जेन ज़ी को भी है। बात SIR की है, वोट चोरी की है, एक नहीं अनेक आरोप की है। वोट काटने से लेकर वोट जोड़ने के आरोप हैं। पोलिंग बूथ पर शाम के वक्त अज्ञात और अदृश्य वोटरों के आ जाने के आरोप हैं। चंडीगढ़ मेयर चुनाव के हैं। इन सभी का यह जवाब नहीं हो सकता कि खेत-खलिहानों में कांग्रेस का संगठन ग़ायब है। बीजेपी का संगठन हर जगह है। उसके पास कार्यकर्ता है। दूसरे दलों से तोड़ कर लाए गए सांसद हैं। असंवैधानिक कानून बना कर इलेक्टोरल बॉन्ड से लिया गया हज़ारों करोड़ का चंदा है। तब उस पर आयोग की मदद से और वोट चोरी से जीतने का आरोप क्यों लग रहा है। क्यों नहीं अमित शाह को यह बात बुरी लगी और उन्होंने चुनाव आयोग पर जाँच बिठाने की मांग की। मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त से क्यों नहीं कहा कि आप जवाब क्यों नहीं दे रहे? जब चोरी पकड़ी गई तब नाम जोड़ने का अभियान चला रहे हैं। पहले क्यों नहीं नाम चलाया? वोट काट कर बिहार और बंगाल में चुनाव क्यों कराया? कितने घुसपैठिए अभी तक मिले हैं?

गृहमंत्री अमित शाह नेता प्रतिपक्ष राहुल गांधी को चैलेंज करना चाहिए कि वो SIR और वोट चोरी पर उनसे बहस करके दिखाएं। दोनों की बहस होगी तो जनता को काफी कुछ पता चलेगा। मानसून सत्र में राहुल गांधी और इंडिया गठबंधन ने गृहमंत्री को सदन में आकर बोलने के लिए चैलेंज किया तो अमित शाह सदन में नहीं आए। एक बार गृहमंत्री को केवल SIR, वोट चोरी, चुनाव आयुक्त की नियुक्ति और क़ानूनी संरक्षण पर बहस के लिए चैलेंज करना चाहिए।

Most Indians don't know this, but the Dreze family are literally academic royalty in Belgium.

Jean's brother the late Xavier Dreze was a highly regarded Marketing professor at UCLA's Anderson School of Management. He was one of the very very few who could do both modeling and consumer behavior research. He died very young at age 48. His obituary says he was a true polymath with multiple academic and sporting talents.

Jean's father the late Jacques Dreze was an economist at the Université Catholique de Louvain. He was a highly regarded economist and the first president of the European Economic Association. He has collaborated with nobel laureates Robert Aumann and Franco Modigliani and his publication record is comparable with the best in the field.

Jean Dreze could have had a very cushy life with his family legacy, white skin and European passport. Even in India, he could have been a social butterfly flitting in and out of five star hotels and running think tanks funded hy veated interests. Instead, he took Indian citizenship, learnt Hindi and roughs it out in rural Jharkhand. He designed many schemes and his footprint is all over Indian economic policy.

You may like him or hate him. But Jean Dreze is more Indian than anyone who was born Indian, including you and me. He chose to be Indian. And he has dedicated his life to India.

Think of this the next time some illiterate journalist asks "Who is Jean Dreze?"

This has to be amongst the most sinister visuals of what is unfolding in Delhi. The police is informed by reporters about unidentified persons in a car with sticks/lathis and yet the car is allowed to drive away!

Think about it for a second.

A planned peaceful protest against election roll fraud is prohibited because the police cites the fear of violence and invokes a section of the law prohibiting gatherings of more than four people in central New Delhi.

The police arrest individuals for speaking to reporters or looking like they are protestors even though they are not raising slogans, carrying placards or weapons of any kind.

But when unidentified persons with a horde of weapons in their motor car are spotted hanging around in this prohibited zone, the police makes no attempt to establish who they are let alone detain them. Instead they are allowed, indeed, encouraged to escape!

I do believe we are now at the public-private partnershipstage of fascism. With lumpens being given free reign to attack those standing up for democracy.

Read the Saket CJM's order dismissing Ratna Singh's (@whattalawyer) plea against her illegal detention today. How terrible is this order:

1. Not one line on the only question that mattered, viz. "By what legal authority was she being detained?"
2. Eight counsel present for the applicant, the applicant on video during the hearing, yet no time given to file an affidavit. Dismissed instead.
3. A "complaint on oath" treated as if it needed an affidavit, when she could have been examined on oath over video by the Magistrate.
4. Calls her location unclear, while recording her home address and that she was right outside it.
5. Faults her for not naming the officers, when her complaint was that they refused to show any authority.
6. Video of the confinement was available on the court's own system. Unwatched. Decided "without delving into the merits."
7. Cites a Supreme Court judgment that upheld an FIR direction, to refuse one.

Liberty lost on paperwork. Courts really need to grow a spine now.
