@Y3mberW3mbers Crazy that Mondale said this and lost in a landslide then 8 years after Perot repeated his points and defined the 90s obsession with balanced budgets.
@ProudBavaria Luddites were weavers who lived during demographic crisis and growing skill requirement during napoleonic wars, and than they were fired in favor of child operated machinery creating worse stuff.
@ProudBavaria Like of course these people were angry about their lifelong high skilled careers being stolen from them by the aristocratic and bourgeoisie classes to replace then with orphans working in almost slave conditions for pennies.
@Eorlhelm Which is how you get the plan to make the lord Protector a hereditary position, something the civilian mps were all in on as to turn the protectorate into a monarchy. Commonwealth politics was insane.
@Eorlhelm When most of the civ mps & moderates were home for the holidays, when the commons was in full session it was completely rejected by the vast majority and shattered the political power of the military, Cromwell disassociated from them and switched his support to the moderates.
@souljagoyteller Its not even late 70s pandemonium its that Carter spent half his time fighting with congress and basically governed as a trial run of what Reagan would do in the 80s anyway. Any other dem who was running in the 76 primaries would have done a far better job.
I think its more a case of no writer worth their salt would want anything to do with such a toxic and restrictive franchise unless they had free reign on a project like Andor.
Ridiculously stupid idea to give a Star Wars trilogy to the genius writer behind X-Men The Last Stand, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix and Fant4stic. Does anyone at Lucasfilm actually want Star Wars to be good
