@VulgarMascot “. . .You're pretty weak.”
She's watching him struggle, standing by his side. Not raising a single finger. Manual labor is off the table it seems. He can't earn coin that way.
“Are you good at anything, actually? You look rather unreliable.”.
@melodicmeows_ She has taken note of his. . Enjoyment.
A thought rises above the rest; she believes it's best to treat that part of him differently. Which is why her thumbs move against him as if they were toying with a sensitive part of his body, caressing and lightly stroking his ears.
@VulgarMascot Out to the side of the house, there's plenty of wood lying around a tree stump. That's where she releases the mouse.
"Alright, start chopping firewood."
She then offers the mouse an axe. It's rather big, too big for either of them but she's somehow holding it up.
@VulgarMascot A strong grip reaches his shoulder, stopping him from turning away.
"Then, you need a job. Come along. We're chopping firewood."
And she's walking out the door with mouse in tow.
@VulgarMascot ". . Do you need a place to stay? Is that why you're in my house?"
Confused. She finds his methods for house seeking to be odd. Well, his assumed methods. She has no idea that he was trying to steal her food.
"Can't you rent a room instead?"
@VulgarMascot "Oh, right, caves. ."
She forgot those were a thing, clearly. There's even a blush of embarrassment across her face.
Her composure does return rather quickly, though.
"So you don't have a cave or house to go to?"
@VulgarMascot Stopping to think about that. . She's even placing him back down.
"What about a big hole?"
Stretching out her arms to give him an idea of how big the hole should be.
@RoamingRoninJin Chop. Chop. Chop.
She's chopping away at the tree he's in. Clearly didn't check for anything that might be in or on it, she recklessly tries to take down the tree.
@VulgarMascot She has good passive perception.
"Lost. . ? Mice live in holes, not in houses. You're really lost."
Carrying him away. Away from her kitchen and pantries; separating him from a bountiful supply of food.
@VulgarMascot . . . She spots the mouse and decides to just pick him up from behind. Hands underneath his arms, raising him with ease despite their similar heights.
"What are you doing?"
@melodicmeows_ Of course, his enjoyment is a priority here. . So she plays around with the inner half of his ears, hoping that it'll be more relaxing than her hands wandering around on his head.
"Is this good?"
@melodicmeows_ Despite the odd warning, she gets as close as possible to him before leaning. She's gentle with his ears, ensuring they're not squeezed too much or scratched too aggressively.
She pets his head with absolute care.
@melodicmeows_ "I can pet you, then?"
Holding up her hands, she beckons for him to lower his head.
Her arms aren't long enough to reach his ears, not while they're both standing in these woods.
@melodicmeows_ "So you don't love fish and naps? You're a normal person?"
At least she's reconfiguring her way of seeing beastfolk. Trying to.
It's hard for her to look past the animal features.
"No petting allowed, too?"
@melodicmeows_ "And you're not human, right? You should like it."
She nods twice, reaffirming her own beliefs. He's a cat in her eyes due to the ears and such.
One that can talk but a cat nonetheless.
@melodicmeows_ "Do you like it?"
There's a head tilt from her, expecting him to actually like the treat. Her eyes sparkle with anticipation. . .
The biscuit is basically just kibble, though.
@melodicmeows_ It's a dry, flat biscuit. Looks edible. Just edible.
It shouldn't be tasty or remotely good, but he's a cat person. Cats are animals. Deers are animals. Therefore, he can eat it.
That's her logic.
"Your prize."
— unknown to her, and since it has helped her maintain a fairly decent living in her adult life, the thought of removing it hasn't crossed her mind.
She lives in ignorant bliss at the wooded outskirts of a small town. Nothing ever changes there, it's all the same.
