In Uganda, there is a growing wave of dictatorship in various positions, including Members of Parliament (MPs). Many of the so-called big NRM (National Resistance Movement) figures are given a direct path to parliament by sabotaging and misusing the laws. Numerous candidates have been sidelined so that the prominent members of the NRM do not have to stress over securing their own votes, allowing them to focus solely on supporting and moving around with their leader, Museveni. This practice of buying and sidelining candidates is new in the region, but it will cost us dearly. How can one feel comfortable representing an area when the people never voted for them? We are witnessing the emergence of a new breed of dictatorship, reminiscent of the Local Council 1 (LC1) system. 🤭

But do you know howmuch is spent daily for all these Big people you see with muzei to stay on campaign trail day by day in the whole country?

BYABAKAMA has, once again, denominated the @NUP_Ug candidate for Buyanja County, Ategeka Christopher, who has been running against Museveni's Finance Minister, Matia Kasaija. This, after they brought him numerous offers - up to 300 million shillings cash, to step down for the minister and he refused. "You have refused the money, but the money will work on you." They told him. When they invited him for a hearing, Ategeka went with the three people who they claimed didn't sign for him. The three people confirmed having signed his nomination forms, and even drew down similar signatures in the presence of Byabakama. Ategeka - who has shaken the ground in Buyanja, is very shocked to receive this ruling, because he left the hearing quite sure that there was no logical case against him. But the criminal regime has ensured that he is denominated! Like I said yesterday, instead of just getting frustrated with Byabakama's criminal actions, let this impunity fuel righteous anger in all of us to bring about democracy in Uganda at all costs. We can restore sanity in only 19 days.

By the grace of God, we're safely back from Kalangala. Upon arrival back home, I found that my wife Barbie Kyagulanyi had prepared some Christmas presents for our security team who have placed their lives on the line to keep us safe since the campaigns started. Often times, they receive the same brutal treatment we're subjected to daily. The least we can do is show them gratitude. The days ahead are still tough, but God is with us. Christmas is a time of sharing. I encourage us to reach out to those around us and share love and hope during this festive season. MERRY CHRISTMAS

Bbunga, Makindye East has closed our day’s campaign trail. We are deeply thankful to the masses that have braved all sorts of hindrances to make our day meaningful and colorful.

Our message highlighted the wellbeing of the ghetto youths who have turned out to be used as tools to repress the citizens. We have urged them to be sober and refrain from being used as mercenaries against the citizens of Uganda.

In our manifesto, we have avenues in which such youths will be enrolled at skilling centers and empowered with vocational training that will trigger them to contribute positively to the nation.
