This has become one of my favorite Jewish songs.

My son Aviel taught it to me and we sing it regularly at our Shabbat table.

It is a song of us turning to Hashem from a place of humility asking Him to treat us with compassion and love.

The words are

שְׁעָרֶיךָ הֵם דּוֹפְקִים כַּעֲנִיִּים וְדַלִּים, צָקוּן לַחֲשָׁם קְשׁוֹב יָהּ שׁוֹכֵן מְעֻלִּים, כִּי-אַתָּה רַב סְלִיחוֹת וּבַעַל הָרַחֲמִים".

שַׁעֲרֵי שָׁמַיִם פְּתַח. וְאוצָרְךָ הַטּוב לָנוּ תִפְתַּח".

It means that we knock on His gates like poor people asking Him to hear our prayers as He is a God of forgiveness and compassion.

The second part is a direct request for God to open the gates of heaven and let us in to witness His greatness.

This video was taken where I went to school, the Yeshiva called Kerem B’yavne.

This is just so beautiful, it made me super emotional.

4️⃣ Protector of Lost Items: Universally invoked to find lost items, this tradition originates from an episode where a stolen manuscript was miraculously recovered after his prayers. Saint Anthony’s intercession is sought by many for the recovery of lost things.

5️⃣ Rapid Canonization: Anthony was canonized by Pope Gregory IX just one year after his death in 1232, marking one of the fastest canonization processes in Church history. His immediate recognition reflects his profound holiness and impact.

Noa Argamani (25), Almog Meir Jan (21), Andrey Kozlov (27), and Shlomi Ziv (40) were rescued in a special operation by the IDF, ISA and Israel Police from 2 separate locations in the heart of Nuseirat after being kidnapped by Hamas from the Nova music festival.

They are in good medical condition and have been transferred to the 'Sheba' Tel-HaShomer Medical Center for further medical examinations.

We will continue to make every effort to bring the hostages home.
