Brianna Ghey was 16 years old. She was brutally murdered.

Whatever your views about transgender people, surely there ought to be a point at which politics and ideology stop and basic human decency begins.

This was somebody’s daughter. A child who had an entire life ahead of her.

To look at her photograph after everything that happened to her and still choose to misgender her, describe her as “groomed” and use her death as ammunition in a culture war is something I find profoundly disturbing.

I’ve spent this week reading people tell me that their hostility towards transgender people comes from “concern”.

Where is the concern here? Where is the compassion?

We can disagree about policy. We can debate medicine. We can question laws and safeguarding.

But surely we haven’t reached a point where respecting the dignity of a murdered 16-year-old is considered too much to ask.

Brianna deserved better while she was alive. Her memory deserves better now. 🏳️‍⚧️

@_TheSmartAlec1 As a species, we're surrounded by and rightly sick of AI slop to such a degree that weird scenes made by actual human creativity - regardless of how flawed or schlocky - warms our hearts. (I recently watched the "Resident Evil" movies; they sucked, but human slop beats AI slop).
