Dans Made in Abyss, l’auteur a déjà été énormément critiqué pour certains de ses délires autour des mineurs. Y’a même eu des appels au boycott de l’œuvre.

À côté de ça, dans SNK, Eren voit sa mère se faire dévorer sous ses yeux. Il grandit en pensant que les Titans sont les seuls responsables, puis il découvre un monde rempli de haine, de racisme, de discrimination, de guerres et de manipulations. Il finit par choisir une voie complètement extrême en pensant protéger les siens. Est-ce que l’œuvre dit qu’il a raison ? Non. Au contraire, elle montre les conséquences de ses actes et pousse constamment le lecteur à les remettre en question.

Pareil pour Berserk. Les viols, les massacres et toutes les atrocités qu’on voit servent à montrer à quel point le monde de Miura est ignoble. C’est pas censé être beau, ni être glorifié.

Death Note, c’est exactement le même principe. Light pense sincèrement agir pour le bien, mais plus l’histoire avance, plus elle montre les dérives de son idéologie.

C’est là que vos comparaisons tiennent pas. Montrer quelque chose dans une œuvre, c’est pas automatiquement le défendre. Tout dépend de la manière dont c’est traité et du message que l’histoire fait passer.

Et venez pas parler d’hypocrisie. La plupart des gens condamnent les viols, la pédophilie, les massacres et tous les autres crimes, peu importe l’œuvre. La différence, c’est que dans beaucoup de mangas, ces actes servent à construire un univers, dénoncer une idéologie ou montrer les conséquences de certains choix. C’est pas le cœur du récit.

Pour Mushoku Tensei, une grosse partie des critiques vient justement du fait que les déviances de Rudeus occupent une place importante dans l’histoire, surtout au début. Beaucoup considèrent que sa rédemption sur cet aspect est inexistante ou, au minimum, largement insuffisante. C’est précisément là-dessus que porte le débat.

Donc le fameux “si vous condamnez Mushoku, condamnez aussi Berserk, SNK ou Death Note”, c’est pas un argument. Les gens condamnent déjà tout ça. Ce qui change, c’est la manière dont ces thèmes sont traités et la place qu’ils occupent dans le récit.

Au final, répondre uniquement “vous êtes hypocrites”, c’est surtout éviter de répondre au fond des critiques.
