I apologise, we had to block Nigerian residents from the faucet because most of them were withdrawing the $5 that was meant to be for testing the product.
This thing is not hard to grasp.
Alex Onyiaโs South East Mathematics Olympiad is a privately organised regional competition for students in the South East. It was won by South East students across the primary, junior, and senior categories...
Primary: Egejurum Onyedikachi(Imo)
Junior: Onwubiko Chimdiebube(Enugu)
Senior: Don Anele Munachimso(Imo)
Samuel Olamide Famiroju of Spring of Life/Fountain of Wisdom in Enugu did not participate in, nor win, the South East Mathematics Olympiad.
Samuel won a completely different competition - the 23rd Annual National Mathematics Competition (ANMC). A nationwide tournament organised by the Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC) in collaboration with the National Mathematical Centre in 2026.
In that national competition held in Abuja, Samuel Olamide Famiroju emerged 1st, with Onwubiko Chimdiebube from Evergreen Schools, Enugu, coming 2nd, and Mosebiuyeyi Adedeji from Phidel College, Lagos, placing 3rd.
The mix-up arose because Chimdiebube Onwubuiko who came 1st in the Junior category of the South East Mathematics Olympiad also participated in the ANMC and finished 2nd behind Samuel.
Alex Onyia did NOT substitute Samuelโs name with Ebubeโs. Samuel simply did not participate in the South East Olympiad.
Lastly, Alex Onyia has never organised a national Olympiad. His initiative is called the Intervention for South East Education for a reason.
You do not expect Alex to leave the winners of his initiative and take the winners of a competition he did not organise to Rome, Italy.
Letโs be factual and be guided.
Cโest fini.
Taiwan solved tax evasion in 1951 with a trick so cheap it should embarrass every tax authority on the planet.
The problem was an all-cash economy full of small shops. A merchant pockets the cash, skips the receipt, and the sale never existed. Auditors can't catch what was never recorded, and hiring enough of them to watch every noodle stand costs more than the missing tax.
So finance chief Ren Xianqun flipped the incentive. Print a lottery number on every receipt. Draw winners every two months on live TV. Top prize today: NT$10 million, about $310K.
Suddenly the customer and the shopkeeper want opposite things. The merchant wants the sale off the books. The customer wants the ticket. And there are millions more customers than merchants. Every transaction now carries a built-in witness demanding the paper trail.
Year one, reported tax revenue jumped 75%, from NT$29 million to NT$51 million. Seventy-five years later, roughly 70% of Taiwanese still play. Convenience stores redeem the smallest NT$200 prizes at the register, so even a coffee receipt feels like a scratch card.
The elegant part is what the audit force costs. The prize pool runs about NT$7 billion a year, roughly $20 million. In exchange, the government gets 23 million unpaid auditors working every checkout line in the country, forever. No inspector general on earth delivers that coverage at that price.
Greece, Italy, Portugal, and Slovakia all copied it. The most effective compliance tool ever built looks like a game, and that's exactly why it works.
Today, I received the Chairman of the Board of the South-West Development Commission (SWDC), Senator Olubunmi Adetunbi, alongside members of the Board and Management, on a courtesy visit at Lagos House, Ikeja.
We had a good discussion about regional growth. The SWDC is a vehicle for real, tangible progress across the South-West and our goal in Lagos State is to work closely to turn shared ideas into actual infrastructure and a stronger economy for our region and our people.

President Tinubu isn't shying away from investment in maritime infrastructure, as FEC has approved โฆ112.85 billion for the dredging of the Escravos Channel.
Over the years, sand buildup has reduced the channel's depth, limiting the movement of large vessels and affecting navigation efficiency.
This is the kind of infrastructure investment that strengthens trade and boosts economic activity.
