i'm sure the actual story of FF14 is good but the time listed has definitely aligned with the thought I have now when I get interested in a MMO of "is there value in what im doing because of what I'm doing in gameplay, or just because it takes a thousand hours to get there?"

definitely the cynic in me but i think one of the undermentioned things i don't like about DI and its ilk (raging strike/rev blow) is the intended counter or the move itself having HUGE slowdown and vfx, feels like an applause sign the devs saying "ur supposed to get hyped now"

My sf6 hot take is that drive impact is a terrible mechanic, the other drive mechanics are just worse. That doesn't make DI "good" to me, why is low forward into fireball something we needed to discourage, or every special having "the version that's plus but loses to DI" etc

@DekuDR2 @fortayee tbh I think press turn is fine but atp (especially after playing the newer stuff like 5/5V and Metaphor) I'm not really sure how much I expect the current teams to do interesting stuff with it or really iterate on it, I'd want them to try and start over and make a new system
