@rasbt@sukh_saroy it seems like "semantic collapse" is just a BS made up by the poster. Your comment here is giving it unnecessary credence.

@_profsay @umarsaif Pretty much depends on the error tolerance of the use case. There is a huge number of people asking chatgpt in urdu voice directly (which points to a reasonable quality). For fine-tuning models at low cost, 5090 is a good option
@Dorialexander I do it all the time. Ask it to write script that sends a prompt to claude via subprocess. Works like a charm, though it hits usage limits very quickly
@_profsay @umarsaif you donβt need H100 at this moment. Take a claude/openai/minimax/glm subscription and route all your requests through them. Powerful models at reasonable process
@MaziyarPanahi it is useful for the aggregators of social data, who can now see more accurately how big any story is in a particular country β> X data is more valuable β> X can charge more for their data
Appalling behavior by @Tesco . Not only did they charge me double at the till, now they keep bouncing me between online customer support and store, despite accepting that I have been charged double. Probably only way to get the money back is by going to court.
βtell toranaga-sama that cursor is incredible. a game changer. in its current form itβs basically the equivalent of having a technical cofounder or a team of senior engineers. tell him iβm excited to see what i can build with cursor + claudeβ
βthe anjin doesnβt know how to codeβ
@ylecun@TEDchris@vkhosla could "System 2" just be a next thought generation model? Going from token generation to thought generation may not be that big of a leap. It would of course need to include next "thought" generation for all modalities. World model can just be implicitly learnt, same as language
@ylecun@geoffreyhinton Agreed that current AR-LLMs donβt have common sense. But what if the missing piece was just another level of abstraction. What if common sense may really just be next thought generation based on previous thoughts and statistical in nature. Tht breakthrough may occur in next 50yrs
@mustafasuleyman not sure if the graph is directly believable without accounting for offshoring of manufacturing. Graph for countries like china are absent here
@elonmusk@Tesla disappointing experience with buying a tesla. Ordered a model 3 for Β£46k, waited for a month and a week before delivery, I am told I cannot get the car cz I donβt have UK driving license. Now I am expected to cancel the order myself and lose the deposit. #Tesla
TTP, Sethi, Dar, falling exports, artficial exchange rate, department cricket.... Only Sarfaraz & Altaf bhai not allowed a comeback kyun k wo Karachi k hain π #PakistanCricket#Karachi
Had an opportunity to perform #Umrah recently, Alhamdulillah. My wife and I had to jump various tricky hoops to get it done. I am sharing a couple of items to take note of if you are planning the same in the near future. 1/n
