On a short road trip stopped at a rest stop picnic area for lunch. Big old freight train not only passes, but slows down to a stop! Then proceeds to off load a bunch of rail cars & reconnect. Lots of huge coupling impacts. Luckily I had a recorder with me and captured it all!

@rene_coronado@MstrStrokeMedia @paulvirostek If it is a good recorder, that meets your needs, that will still be the case regardless of if a new version comes out. I still use my D-50 (the previous model to the D-100) all the time and I got it 12 years ago.
This episode was a blast to record! Thanks so much to @SoularitySound and @shaynabelle for helping make it happen! Austin has such a fantastic audio community!
After a bit of a hiatus Tonebenders is back with a new eps! We talk with Tim Rakoczy about his long collaboration with Robert Rodriguez, his approaches to Sound Supervising & lots of funny stories. This one is a must listen! Check it out: https://t.co/10avIayhhP #sounddesign
@hackner@JavierQuesadaA@HistoryVikings The post is done in Toronto by an amazing crew. I got to sit in on a foley session a few years back and they were doing amazing work. They have cleaned up at the Canadian version of the Emmys in the sound awards for many years.
What are people doing with all the sound effects libraries on CD/DVD they have bought over the years? Logical side of my brain says toss em out! Emotional side remembers the 1000s & 1000s of $$$$ they cost me originally and can’t let them go!?
@lydrummet I was so enthralled by this album that I went on vacation on that exact railway in Northern Mexico 2 years ago. A totally majestic, beautiful and unforgettable place.
Last night I was at the studio & took it apart to take as much home as I could. Setting it all up in basement now, working from home for next while and hoping to keep working through all this.... How is everyone else in #sounddesign adjusting? What are bigger studios doing?
