@omar_quraishi Antigen test which is not allowed in Punjab would cost the patient around Rs. 2000. So why burden the patient more and straight away do the needful tests right away

@omar_quraishi Actually there is another type of trend emerging mainly in districts with less PCR facility. The doctors are straight away advising the tests like D Dimers, CRP etc instead of first ordering Covid PCR.

@omar_quraishi The reason is that if patient is symptomatic with worsening signs then why waste time with pcr or antigen test and straight away start the investigation

@omar_quraishi On top of it, the Punjab government has not yet allowed antigen test for diagnosis whereas federal and kpk has allowed antigen testing. Maybe it's due to PCR lobby at play or just sheer incompetence. The antigen test can diagnose covid in 3 to 20 Min via nasal sample.

@omar_quraishi The whole district of Gujrat, Okara and Jhelum do not have a single PCR lab. So numbers from there would be low even if cases are as much as Lahore
