First Evo best Evo! Here's my recap of everything that happened 🧵:
Turns out I completely forgot to register! So I didn't get a chance to flex my Modern Chun-Li :(
@jchensor@UnholyPhoenix Nothing illustrates this better for me than Golden Sun. When I was a kid, I was disappointed that the game ended on the 2nd lighthouse out of 4. Now, I appreciate the pacing and length much better!
@realdarkphoenix@DCafiwam@Play2XKO This year 2XKO would have released 4 champs with thresh so far, which is just one less than COTW's current 5. Release cadence has actually been way better than expected
@UnholyPhoenix@jchensor I'm going to assume that there is an inverse relation between age and expected play time. Like, when I was young I would love extremely long games because I could only get a couple of them a year. Now that I'm older, I prefer shorter games.
@jchensor I will never tire of saying Resident Evil has the perfect formula. Campaigns are usually 10-15 hours, but there is a ton of replayability that can easily push your play time to 50+ hours.
@Nerfnow When Starfield announced it would have 1000 playets I immediately lost interest. Not only does it mean that they would most likely be bland and generic, but it's also very overwhelming to think about exploring a thousand of them.
@MrPokemon96@TheJoshMan07 What's disappointing is that it didn't have to be this way. Just look at Forza Horizon, that's open world done right.
I believe MKW would have been 10x a better game if Free Roam would let you drive to the Grand Prix cups.
@zPfanne@TheJoshMan07 This is on me, but you just reminded me that staff ghosts exist. Most of the cool stuff that I learned was from them while playing Mario Kart DS.
@TheJoshMan07 I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the game to give you a demonstration of their new gimmick. People have been playing MK8 for a decade, why would you expect them to drive differently from what they been doing all this time?
@TheJoshMan07 The greatest tragedy of this game is that there are too many cool advanced techniques that I'm willing to bet most people want to try, but the game never makes an effort to teach them and most people would only see them from twitter clips

@Inox94@natisneato I don't have problems with jump attacks per se, but both this and GBC Zeldas make it very awkward to tell in which plane the enemies are
@meafius@natisneato I think it's funny that it's basically a combination of Bloodborne's orange life recovery and estus flasks, both of which were already solved problems but somehow combining brings the worst of both.
