I’ll be presenting my poster tonight at NACCB on the effects of development and coyotes on gray fox space use. If you’re around, I’d love if you stop by!
Coming up at this evening’s @NACCB2022 in person poster session: undergraduate researcher Amida Verhey of @JustineASmith Lab will present his research on interference competition between coyotes and gray foxes 🐾🦊 @azverhey
Check out our new paper exploring the evolutionary history of island spotted skunks on the Channel Islands, a super fun collaboration between the Van Vuren lab and @theMECU, including @andy_muan, @stevizwan, and Cate Quinn! https://t.co/DpVSYtrqez
Island spotted skunk numbers have declined, influenced by interference competition with island foxes. Our new paper finds that skunks are making fine-scale adjustments in space and time to avoid foxes: https://t.co/nnTvSkfee2
Recovery is the goal, and big meals in captivity will help these newly hatched Mojave Desert Tortoises grow in protected outdoor enclosures before they can be released.
The marks help us identify them in captivity without excessive handling.
Handled with love and permits.
