The older you get, the more you realise how rare it is to find people who simply want your company. Not what you can do for them. Just you. The ones who are happy with a coffee or simply talking about life. Just genuine comfort in each other's presence. When you find those people, treasure them.

I’ve never looked at someone’s terrible boundaries or lack of confidence and thought, let me come and take advantage of it. In fact when I notice someone isn’t living in their power or agency, I feel compelled to teach them how to be more self assured. So although yes, people should be more self protective. It takes a bad person, to take advantage of someone that clearly isn’t. And they should be called out for it.
Your job is important but, so are your workouts, your lunch breaks, vacation days, hobbies, the people waiting for you when you get home.
Works pays for your life. It isn't supposed to replace it.
the best thing you can do for yourself is actively increase your exposure to who you could become. read the book, take the course, have the hard conversation, sit with the discomfort, ask the question you've been too afraid to ask.
The older I get, the more I see why it’s important to only keep people around who have the same morals, manners, and sense of consideration as you. It’s not being picky, it’s protecting your peace. When you reach a certain stage in life, chaos and disrespect just aren’t entertaining anymore. You start craving calm, mutual respect, and people who move with the same kind of heart as you do.
