One of the most touching Breaking Bad moments didn’t even happen on screen it happened in real life.
At the end of Season 5, the show quietly dedicated an episode: “Dedicated to our friend Kevin Cordasco.” Who was Kevin?
Kevin was a 16-year-old from Calabasas, California, fighting a rare childhood c@ncer for six years. Through all the treatments and surgeries, Breaking Bad became his escape. He and his friends would watch episodes together, share pizza, and immerse themselves in the story.
What inspired him most was Walter White a man facing illness yet determined to take control of his life. That struggle gave Kevin hope.
When his health worsened, Bryan Cranston visited him in the hospital, spending hours with Kevin and his family. Vince Gilligan and other cast members also came to see him and even invited him to the writers’ room a dream come true.
Kevin passed away on March 11, 2013, just as the show’s final episodes were being completed. The cast and crew honored him forever by adding his name to the opening credits
