Thank you @fwiz!
I agree we need to update the token allocations that were set nearly four years ago when we launched OP.
The Foundation plans to put forward a proposal in Q1 to reorganize how tokens are earmarked and over what timeline they can be emitted.
For the buyback specifically – gov will control the parameters that determine whether those tokens are burned. This is just the first step. Start small, go big.
@fuguworks@conduitxyz fam! this is sick.
you should make sure to sign up for Optimism's RetroPGF for a chance to get rewarded for your impact:

@kelvinfichter@WilsonCusack yep, longterm goal is for sequencer profit to fund retroPGF. ultimately up to governance to decide how much & when – this will come online in a future gov season.
20% of total initial supply of OP also dedicated to retroPGF. lots to build for :)
@owocki @optimismFND @VitalikButerin anyone who's actively thinking about this – i would be happy to help you figure out how to fit in with @optimismFND RetroPGF rounds :)
Huge news: the results of RetroPGF 2 are in! 🌞🌱
This experiment in retroactive public goods funding is driving growth of the Optimism ecosystem by allocating resources to the projects and people that have demonstrated positive impact.
