Not that The Atlantic hasn't done the same, but I'm amazed how many people read the part of The Anxious Generation where he claims not only that transgender people are a "contagion" but that one can catch being trans through the internet - and simply accepted it as fact!
Will we get an apology from all those pro-Israel people who screamed on this hellsite throughout 2024 ‘why won’t they just release the hostages?’ as an attempted justification for every Israeli war crime?
@HodsonAnn I don't understand how changing "gender reassignment" to "first visit to clinic" and changing "psychiatric morbidity" to "visits to psychiatric clinics" doesn't affect the substantial findings, but okay. I guess it's easy to not be arsed when you can't explain things.
@HodsonAnn Not an activist, just took a psych undergrad https://t.co/urRFRPZohW, tired of people unable to understand studies too. You're free to argue those are accurate ways to operationalize psychiatric morbidity and gender reassignment, but what I said was just factual.
@HodsonAnn@hriengaalkn The study doesn't say that. It measures number of visits to external psychiatric services (which doesn't actually tell you about the incidence/severity of psychiatric problems) after first visit to the gender clinic (not medical treatment, which can take years after first visit)
There's a new biased Finnish study that anti-trans orgs are jumping on, like the Cass Review. It claims gender-affirming care is harmful, BUT it didn't even measure mental health, despite what it says. It measured trips to the doctor. I'm debunking every logical fallacy here.
holy shit, the BBC just edited the passage from their anonymous "Iranian source" and removed the begging for being left without electricity, water and being nuked to death. So they admitted to fabricating the quote without any formal correction. This is utterly insane
The Prairieland verdict is horrific. Everyone should understand how mad it also is. Last week I learned to my astonishment that prosecutors used my 7-year-old analysis of feminism’s relationship to horror cinema as 'evidence of ideologically driven intent' https://t.co/6h87A9mKyq
@StoicSchism@LGBwiththeT If transitioning was only definition 1, then the medical concerns aren't relevant
If transitioning was only definition 2, then the 80% desistance rate isn't relevant
Also the 80% rate isn't from declaration, it's from outdated DSM IV criteria that doesn't require declaration
Idc what ur policy agenda is, there’s absolutely zero excuse for partnering with anti-LGBTQ hate groups who want to criminalize abortion, roll back gay marriage, and usher in far right Christian nationalism. Especially when you’re supporting laws that will assist in that agenda
Today’s military strikes on Iran — carried out by the United States and Israel — mark a catastrophic escalation in an illegal war of aggression. Bombing cities. Killing civilians. Opening a new theater of war. Americans do not want this. They do not want another war in pursuit of regime change. They want relief from the affordability crisis. They want peace.
I am focused on making sure that every New Yorker is safe. I have been in contact with our Police Commissioner and emergency management officials. We are taking proactive steps, including increasing coordination across agencies and enhancing patrols of sensitive locations out of an abundance of caution.
Additionally, I want to speak directly to Iranian New Yorkers: you are part of the fabric of this city — you are our neighbors, small business owners, students, artists, workers, and community leaders. You will be safe here.
🚨 This is one of the most shocking stories I've written about lately, and an urgent warning:
EU sanctions German journalist @hussedogru over his Gaza reporting. His accounts are blocked. He can't travel. He can't even buy food for his babies.

Congratulations to @Michael_Spagat and team for getting their article published in the Lancet.
This is a key study on estimating mortality in Gaza, and one that heavily influenced my own thinking on the overall death toll.
"This study provides the first independent, population-based household survey estimate of mortality in Gaza during the current conflict. We surveyed 2000 households representing 9729 individuals and estimated 75 200 violent deaths (95% CI 63 600–86 800) and 8540 excess non-violent deaths (4540–12 500) between Oct 7, 2023, and Jan 5, 2025.
The MoH figure is 34.7% below our central estimate, closely aligning with the capture–recapture analysis, which found that the MoH figure was 39·1% below their estimate for their coverage period, providing rare cross-methodology validation.
We found that 56.2% of violent deaths were among women, children, and older people (older than 64 years), consistent with MoH demographic reporting.
The study showed that rigorous household mortality surveys are feasible even in extremely challenging conflict environments and challenges assumptions about inevitably high ratios of indirect to direct deaths in modern conflicts".
The Cass Review was written without listening to trans people, their families, or the clinicians who care for them.
Now it’s your turn to speak.
I’m collecting testimony for the GMC. How has it affected you? What would you have said?

Wes Streeting directly and callously decided to pursue the policies that killed nearly 50 children purely because of his bigoted views toward trans people.
Louis Appleby helped him cover up their deaths so he could continue to pursue the policies that have killed more.
When we polled voters who drifted away from Democrats just after the 2024 election, they named Gaza as their top issue, especially in several critical swing states.
Harris’s own campaign staff are confirming they had this data, but chose funding genocide over beating Trump:
In 2024, a Manhattan Institute political scientist tried to get plastic surgeons to break with medical consensus on trans care. They refused.
In 2025 he co-wrote a government report. The government threatened to pull all Medicare/Medicaid funding from any hospital that didn’t comply. Now the plastic surgeons have reversed course—citing his report.
He’s celebrating. The evidence hasn’t changed. ASPS still calls it “low quality/low certainty”—the same rating they use for the 8,000 breast reductions and implants they perform on patients 19 and under every year without controversy.
HHS had a press release ready the same day, with quotes from RFK Jr. and Dr. Oz. The statement was approved internally on January 23 but held until February 3. “Happenstance.”

writing for the NYT is great because it requires you either make shit up or have the memory of a goldfish. 2024 was the highest year for police killings in recorded history and police killings have only ticked up since George Floyd. There was no "major changes," just better PR
