Somaliland was the Northern British protectorate that joined with the Southern Italian Somaliland after they both gained independence in 1960 to form the Somali Republic.

It also shows Aden, the city in Yemen taken by British forces in 1839 secure a coaling station and naval base for ships traveling to India.

The area that was British Somaliland declared independence from Somalia in 1991 after the fall of the Barre regime. It calls itself Somaliland, but the UN hasn’t recognized it and considers it an autonomous region of Somalia.

Here is a group of Somalis who are fed up with Ilhan Omar.

Many in the Somali community actually see an opportunity to oust Ilhan Omar in the midterms after other clans united with Jacob Frey to defeat Omar Fateh.

Again, I’ve been saying this for years, Somalis will not vote for Ilhan or Omar Fateh simply because they are Somali.

Most of their support derives from white Democratic Socialists.
