@Wendi_Irlbeck The path to D1 athletics is 1 of 3 routes: 1. What relationships do coaches and parents have? 2. Play juco with a chip and ball out. 3. Absolute stud. Let kids be kids. You either have it or you don’t. There’s always someone faster, stronger, smarter. And they are #3.
@FSUBaseball I went to a Mike Martin summer camp when I was in middle/high school. Got to stay in Osceola Hall. It is one of my core memories getting to play in Howser.
@alwaysdadszn@PerfectGameUSA@PGYouthBB In the early 2000s PG was invite only/team had to qualify for elite showcases. All these showcase events have turned into cash cows. At this point, pick a team, have fun and enjoy the game. If you have the intangibles you will be found.
@iam_jvxiiii Decisions are now business decisions and we can’t get upset with players for making them. Gone are the days when college football was about representing and playing for your teammates and university. This isn’t an FSU culture VS. UGA culture conversation. 3/4
@iam_jvxiiii protest; play the game so you get the check, and protect your best players by allowing them to opt out. The landscape of college football has changed, but it didn’t start last night. It started 2 yrs ago when NIL was passed and the game moved to a semi-professional operation. 2/3
@iam_jvxiiii I agree man! When the CFP committee chose to make an “unprecedented” decision to leave unconquered FSU out of the playoffs, why are so many people mad that FSU made the “unprecedented” choice to allow 14 starters to sit out? What the world saw last night was the best form of 1/3
@ostrachan@TGC@Jimdavis79 @jdodgex6 This article expounds the thinking of current American discipleship culture. Information-experience-relationship, whereas Jesus had it the exact opposite. The book, “Discipleship that fits” would be a great read for anyone who has an “information first” theology of discipleship.
