Our Chinese Valkyries celebrated qixi festival by installing 30+ billboards for Valko, Some Valko-haters removed some billboards by false accusations.

But we learned something new today,
What matters more is our dedication, power of unity and love towards VALKO and his developers.

Between this and all the good news coming out of Shanghai (investment in global expansion, investigating unfair corporate smear campaigns, etc.) it seems like the path to reinstatement is slowly being revealed.

And remember, pushing back the multi instead of running it with five LIs was insanely good news for us. It means Valko's card for it is not yet lost.

So, what do we do in the meantime? We stay the course. Keep boycotting. Keep being loud in our demands for Valko. Keep creating and sharing art. Keep being unhinged and horny. Make sure PPG knows that putting in this work for Valko and bringing him back is their only path to success.

The fact that one of the most authoritative state media outlets has officially endorsed Love and Deepspace's "cultural export" means the narrative around the game can now begin to shift.

Using Rafayel as the poster boy of the narrative means that even CDG won't object to it. On the contrary, they're celebrating it! They're helping spread the narrative that contradicts the one they themselves first initiated by weaponizing 731, because this time it benefits them.

With PPG's image on the mend, and the importance of their global export emphasized not just by fans, but by an outlet with high authority (one that had never directly endorsed the game in this world way before, btw) they will be set to start shaping another narrative. Global expansion is important, and global players want something very specific from them: Valko.

But just appealing to global might not be enough, right? They need to still have a domestic market for Valko, and that's also where this article comes in.

Contrary to early claims, comments on the article supporting Valko are not being deleted. They have thousands of likes. There's now proof, on an article from a top outlet, that fans within China want Valko, too. Reinstating him is not abandoning the domestic market for the global market, it's meeting a need in both. Maybe the domestic demand is smaller, but it's still there, and now it's documented.

Our movement has done a lot to tie Valko to positive Chinese cultural export. I do believe that's helped. But it's not quite enough yet. Why? Because it's not just Valko who's seen as anti-China right now, it's the entire game.

With Valko's image tarnished, he could never be the mechanism to deliver the "cultural export" narrative to the general public and help to rehabilitate the game's image. And if they launch him without at least beginning to shift that narrative, it would welcome a whole new shit storm.

That's where Rafayel comes in. For a long time, I was sure they wouldn't risk his myth while the situation in the fandom is still so volatile. He's their poster boy. If he fails, it's a death knell.

Tbh, I underestimated their genius. Rafayel IS their poster boy. He's the most popular. The face even the general public is most likely to recognize. And he, entirely coincidentally, had a myth lined up with a concept perfectly encapsulating the game's cultural export.

The thing is no, LADs cannot be a great cultural export as 5. While they were undeniably successful before Valko was announced, infold was also constantly being criticized for one major thing: not listening to global players.

Whether it was lighting issues, hair textures, translation problems, themes, whatever, global was constantly being ignored and essentially being treated as second rate players, despite bringing in around 40+% of the games total revenue. This has been an ongoing issue.

By cancelling Valko and ignoring the majority of global players for over a month, they effectively set off a bomb in the powder keg of their biggest global shortcoming. They’ve shined a spotlight on the fact that yes, they want global money, but they don’t care about the global players that money comes from.

Putting Valko in the game takes nothing from the players who dislike him—this game is already set up to allow you to ignore the LIs you don’t care about, and players are well aware of that. But removing him actively lets some players take away an aspect of the game most global players were really excited for.

Without Valko, the trust from the global player base is all but gone. We’ve been told for a while that we have no say in how this game improves, but with Valko’s cancellation, we’re actively being told they would rather keep fans that actively want to destroy the game than let foreign fans feel catered to at all
