時が経つのは早いもので、Wizard AI の ICM に基づくトーナメント対応が始まったのは一昨年のことでした。そのリリースを支えた ICM の精密な計算アルゴリズムについて、当時は公開できないとしていたのですが……
今回、研究としてパワーアップさせた形でそれを公開できる運びになりました！！

Today we are revealing how GTO Wizard AI computes ICM for large tournament fields, and publishing our proprietary algorithm, free, for everyone.

Traditional ICM calculators top out at a few dozen players. In 2024, we showed that ICM for thousands of players can be computed in seconds, a problem academia still considered intractable.

We are sharing it because we believe in contributing to research, and because we want others to build on it, in poker and well beyond it. The same math applies to ranking problems in many other industries.

Behind GTO Wizard is a team of researchers and scientists who built the state-of-the-art poker AI and work closely with @MIT and other leading universities around the world, from guest lectures to joint research.

This problem was cracked by the brilliant Wataru Inariba (@b_inary). Wataru, thank you for your outstanding work.

ナッシュ均衡 (NE) ではなくQREを求めるようになりましたというのは記事を読んでもらいたいんですが、AIチームとしては古典的な研究から最新の研究まで広く当たりつつ、技術的な課題も一つ一つ解決しながら開発してきました。

ちなみにアルゴリズム部分は、今も英語版 Wikipedia には「多プレイヤー下では computationally intractable (≒計算困難)」である、と書かれているくらいなのを現実的に打破した自信作です。
ICMそのもののがモデルとして完璧だとは思っていませんが、一歩着実な前進に貢献できたかなと思っています。
