@WW3finalboss Europe’s security problem last century was Germany. The Nazis invaded Russia and killed 6.5 million native and 20 million civilians. The U.S. lost 200,000 in that theater. Don’t tell Russia about the U.S. rescuing Europe. Famed diplomat George Kennan on expansion of NATO:
@WW3finalboss With fools like this posing as experts civilization is in danger. Russia is not our enemy since the its empire collapsed. Ukraine cannot crush Russia unless they want their cities demolished. And Ukraine cannot touch Russia’s nuclear might which is the only reason we fear Russia.
@McFaul The reason Ukraine shouldn’t enter NATO is that Russia does not want Ukraine to enter NATO. Although it is a fading nation it is still the one with nuclear weapons of all sizes. Russia will not allow its access to Crimea to be cut off. It’s ports and naval base are a necessity.
@BohuslavskaKate You blame the United States for Ukrainian deaths? Your man sat for years promising a complete victory over Russia that would even restore Crimea. Even when two-thirds of your young men wouldn’t fight he promised victory. His refusal to accept reality has cost so many lives.
@BohuslavskaKate Ukraine cannot dislodge Russia on the ground, so it attempts to pressure Russia into a better peace through missile attacks deep within Russia. It is surprisingly successful, but ultimately it will fail because even a full complement of scarce Patriots cannot stop retaliation.
@SenBlumenthal Ukrainians have only their insane leader to blame. Did he think he could fire missiles deep into Russia - and at its capital without incurring wrathful retaliation? Zelensky boasts about allowing Russia’s military parade in Moscow. His cities are helpless against air attack.
@szaboandras87@BohuslavskaKate Japan had no history of democracy and we had incinerated all their cities except for the two we nuked. One night in March our incendiaries created a Tokyo firestorm that killed 100,000 humans. But how quickly they embraced the West. What democratic tradition did Germany have?
@FMannuss@SenBlumenthal In summary: There is no definitive, universally accepted number of children who died in Iraq due to U.S./UN sanctions. The 500,000 figure is politically charged and disputed with credible alternative estimates in the 100,000 range. The evidence is mixed, and the debate continues.
@FMannuss@SenBlumenthal The most widely cited U.S.-linked civilian death figures are:
South Vietnam: ~1.15–1.4 million deaths
North Vietnam: ~300,000 deaths
Cambodia: ~250,000 deaths
Total in Vietnam & Indochina: ~1.698 million civilian deaths caused by U.S. military actions Wikipedia+1.
@TDBank_US
I am 75 years old and my branch is in Northport, NY.
My account has been restricted due to attempted fraud.
I have to appear personally to withdraw funds. I have no money for transportation or to last the weekend and they would not let me withdraw even $50 for this.
@Kap10Haddock@VolodyaTretyak Life is not black and white but most prefer to see it as such. This is not just about evil Putin and his aggression. This is about the ouster of Yanukovych, who represented the interests of Donbas, and the angry split between Ukraine east and west. It’s also about NATO expansion.
@Kap10Haddock@VolodyaTretyak After five years now they hit the brakes. And how much did needless expansion of NATO, an alliance created to destroy Russia, into Eastern Europe creeping ever closer to a country that suffered 27 million dead. Read famed Russian ambassador George Kennan’s prophetic interview.
@KellyBobby5@BohuslavskaKate You are the brainwashed fool. Post-war America has engaged in far more wars costing the lives of far more innocent people than any other nation and it isn’t close. And the world knows it. Two million Vietnamese, a half million starved Iraqi children, Iran, Iraq, Palestine, Libya.
@Kap10Haddock@VolodyaTretyak Europe, which has been financing the war for Russia with its hundreds of billions of dollars purchasing Russian natural gas, will talk a big game but not risk Russian missiles hitting their cities. Defending Ukraine not that vital.
@VolodyaTretyak This “threat” arises out of Zelensky’s reckless policy of striking targets deep inside Russia, including Moscow. He surely knew that Russia would retaliate against his capital and he had no Patriot missiles to defend it. He is obsessed with defeating Russia at whatever the cost.
@BohuslavskaKate Why do you condemn Washington for a policy thought to be in its security interest which unintentionally led to higher oil revenues for Russia, but do not disclose that western Europe has continued to spend billions on Russian oil that effectively cancel out their aid to Ukraine?
@szaboandras87@BohuslavskaKate Disagree. Russia’s form of government is a parliamentary democracy similar to France. Post-Putin Russia may decide that looking to the West for trade and investment is the way to revive their sick economy. Europe has continued to buy Russian oil that offsets their aid to Ukraine.
@DillenGody@Microinteracti1 Article V says an attack on one will be considered an attack on all. But there is a huge escape clause:
“This assistance may or may not involve the use of armed force.”
Does anyone believe that Western Europe and the U.S. will go to war over Estonia? Foolish NATO expansion.
