If somebody is buying a car or a two wheeler today which confirms to BS VI emission norms & is compatible with only E20 fuel, & pays road tax & registration fees for 15 yrs, then the govt has to ensure E20 is available at all times till 2041.

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಿಂದ ರಾಜ್ಯಸಭೆಗೆ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಮೂವರು ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪಕ್ಷ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಪಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪವನ್ ಖೇರಾ ಎಂಬುವವರ ಹೆಸರು ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಈ ಪವನ್ ಖೇರಾ ಯಾರು? ಕರ್ನಾಟಕಕ್ಕೂ ಇವರಿಗೂ ಏನು ಸಂಬಂಧ? ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಿಂದ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಆ ಪಕ್ಷದ ನಾಯಕರು, ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರು ಯಾರೂ ಕಾಣಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವೇ? ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾರತದ ನಿರಾಶ್ರಿತ ರಾಜಕಾರಣಿಯನ್ನು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಏನು ಕಾರಣ?
ದೆಹಲಿ ಹೈಕಮಾಂಡ್ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳು ಮೊದಲಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಮೇಲೆ ಸವಾರಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಲೇ ಬಂದಿವೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಿಂದ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಜನತಾ ಪಕ್ಷ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ನಿರ್ಮಾಲಾ ಸೀತಾರಾಮನ್ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಏನು? ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಮೂಲಕ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆಂಬ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಸೌಜನ್ಯ, ಉಪಕಾರ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಅವರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕಕ್ಕೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಯುತವಾಗಿ ಸಲ್ಲಬೇಕಾದ ಹಣಕಾಸು ಹಂಚಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ನೀಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಇಂಥವರನ್ನು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಏನು ಪ್ರಯೋಜನ?
ಇಡೀ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪಕ್ಷ ಅಧಿಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವುದು ಕೇವಲ ನಾಲ್ಕು ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಜನತೆ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಇಟ್ಟು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬಹುಮತ ನೀಡಿ ಗೆಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಈ ಔದಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಆ ಪಕ್ಷ ಮರೆಯುವಂತಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗಿರುವಾಗ ಅನ್ಯರಾಜ್ಯಗಳ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ನಾಯಕರನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಿಂದ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಅಗತ್ಯವೇನು? ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಯೋಗ್ಯತೆ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪಕ್ಷ ತೀರ್ಮಾನ ಮಾಡಿದೆಯೇ?
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಘಟಕ ಹೈಕಮಾಂಡ್ ತೀರ್ಮಾನವನ್ನು ಧಿಕ್ಕರಿಸಬೇಕು. ಇನ್ನಾದರೂ ಹೈಕಮಾಂಡ್ ಗುಲಾಮಗಿರಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಪವನ್ ಖೇರಾ ಅವರನ್ನು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಬೇಕು. ಆದರೆ ಆ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಇತಿಹಾಸವನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿದರೆ ಹೈಕಮಾಂಡ್ ಏನೇ ದಬ್ಬಾಳಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಅದನ್ನು ವಿರೋಧಿಸುವ ಎದೆಗಾರಿಕೆ ಅದರ ನಾಯಕರಿಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಈ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ದಾಸ್ಯದಿಂದ ಹೊರಬರಲು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿಯೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಇದನ್ನೇ ನಾವು ಹೈಕಮಾಂಡ್ ಗುಲಾಮಗಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯುವುದು.
ಪವನ್ ಖೇರಾ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರೂ ವಿರೋಧಿಸಬೇಕು. ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಿಗಬೇಕಾದ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಇನ್ಯಾವುದೋ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ನಾಯಕನಿಗೆ ಸಿಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪಕ್ಷ ತಕ್ಷಣ ತನ್ನ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ಬದಲಿಸಿ, ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಗೆ ಆ ಸ್ಥಾನ ನೀಡಬೇಕು. ಇಲ್ಲವಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಪಕ್ಷ ತನ್ನ ಕಾಲ ಮೇಲೆ ತಾನೇ ಕೊಡಲಿ ಪೆಟ್ಟು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡಂತಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಜನತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸಿ, ಈ ಇಂಥ ಅನ್ಯಾಯಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ವೇದಿಕೆ ತೀವ್ರ ಸ್ವರೂಪದ ಹೋರಾಟ ಸಂಘಟಿಸಲಿದೆ.

The E20 PIL lawyer argued in SC: "Vehicles must be made compatible, engines recalibrated, our issue is no E10 option exists for current users."
The court still dismissed it. The most reasonable ask in Indian legal history, just keep one alternative fuel, was rejected.

The highest court in the land just dismissed a PIL on E20 petrol. They said the government "followed due process."
But here's the shocker – the petition wasn't even demanding a full rollback! It was asking for three basic, common-sense things to protect millions of vehicle owners:
✅ Clear fuel labels at every pump
✅ Keep E10 option available
✅ A proper nationwide study on vehicle compatibility
All three requests? REJECTED.
This is what "due process" looks like in 2026 India?
E20 is being pushed everywhere. 20% ethanol blend in petrol. Government says it helps farmers and cuts oil imports. Fair enough.
But drivers across India are already reporting lower mileage, engine issues in older vehicles, and higher repair bills. Many cars made before 2023 weren't built for this high ethanol mix.
Instead of clear warnings at pumps or choice for regular fuel, we're getting forced rollout. No nationwide compatibility study that puts real doubts to rest. No labels so people know exactly what they're pumping.
Why is this controversial?
Because everyday Indians – bike riders, car owners, auto drivers – feel ignored. You're filling up your tank with something that might quietly damage your engine, and the system won't even give you basic information or options.
The PIL was filed in public interest. It wasn't anti-government. It was pro-people. Asking for transparency isn't radical – it's responsible.
Courts exist to protect citizens from hasty policies, right?
Yet here we are. A simple request for labels and study shot down. People are left wondering – whose side are the institutions on?
This isn't just about fuel. It's about trust. When even basic safeguards get rejected, ordinary citizens feel powerless. Fuel prices already pinch hard. Now this?
What now?
Drivers need to stay alert. Check your vehicle's manual. Consider maintenance more seriously. And keep demanding transparency – from pumps, from companies, from authorities.
India deserves better than "trust us, due process followed" when millions of engines and wallets are at stake.

The E20 PIL asked for ethanol-free petrol at every station. The SC said no.
A cancer patient who needs non-ethanol fuel for a carbureted medical generator. A vintage vehicle owner.
A BS3 motorcycle owner. All told: there is no alternative.
Is this India or a fuel monopoly?

The EU capped ethanol blending at E10 for regular unleaded, protecting older vehicles on the road. The USA's E15 is still optional, not forced. India made E20 the only option at every pump. Even the West didn't go this far. Brainless decisions from mindless politicians.
The Karnataka government should strongly push back such coercive methods to appropriate professional education from the states. It is detrimental to the interests of the students of the state.
Karnataka colleges should stick to KCET. The state government should focus on improving the quality of education in the colleges, and ensuring high enrollment of the state's students in graduate, post-graduate and professional courses.
