Indeed.
Game is over here, but what is *any* of the match officials watching here?
Doleman & the crew were terrible tonight, but the worst thing as a reds fan, was it wasn’t unexpected.
See also, the $1Mn ever smaller block of land in capital cities has consequences.
Inflation is hurting everyone, and those with kids are worried about their future housing security ... and if you get there, the government now wants some of it, instead of assisting with provision
Maybe aspiration shouldn’t be punished, inflation shouldn’t be dismissed & concerns about population growth matter to voters …
Employment is still insulating the government (& perversely house prices & rents too)

Nothing in our FY26 tax returns. Min. FY27
Eventually, Jim's promises of milk & bread years out will become a problem for his marketing.
But, as I've said, I expect much larger tax cuts in the next budget or election campaign ... he will want to bring them forward though ...
BREAKING: We've just introduced legislation to deliver more tax cuts to Australian workers.
Labor's five different tax cuts will benefit the average worker by up to $2816.
This Budget makes the tax system fairer for workers, businesses and first homebuyers.
You don't create wealth by taxing it, you nurture & encourage the investment.
This has been proven time & again (at home & abroad). Trojan horses in the parliament don't want "more tax" from the mining industry, they would prefer we didn't mine.
Like it or not, mining is Australia's (best) chance to ensure living standards grow in the next century.
Be wary of Senators & MPs trying to get in the way of this, via increasing taxes, environmental regulations, lawfare by proxy.
They are in the way of our future wealth.
While we're fighting over the budget & tax, once again, assumptions in the budget for commodity price reversion are rather ridiculous (3 commodity price forecasts under costs for many global miners)
So, expect large MYEFO upgrades to revenue late this year & tax cuts next budget
The ways to help young people are to get them into property (at lower headline prices than market currently) or increase their incomes while young/raising families (this can be done via tax brackets/offsets/transfers)
The budget doesn't do this.
The problem though, is that the best "benefit(s)" for young people in the budget & tax changes is(are) indirect & based on hope
Otherwise, the changes *negatively* impact young people, in particular those who may feel they need to invest instead of purchasing PPOR to "get ahead"
Labor’s tax reforms need ordinary language to get the message across https://t.co/xbIsYf8sMC is the “backlash” not largely a media creation? These changes benefit the vast majority of people esp young people.
Tbh the bigger problem is that $800Bn a year budget was under $500Bn only 6-7 years ago … and the improvements in services that should come with that increase in relative spending isn’t being felt by the community (or the taxpayers perhaps)
Most of those ferociously complaining about the budget have never worked in public policy, never had to consider balancing the huge issues in a $800 billion a year budget, never implemented reforms that impact all 28 million Australians, never copped the public hate campaigns against them & their families. We are seeing the lid being lifted on the priorities of those people.
