Apparently one-way attack drones being used against Sana’a Yemen tonight. First time that the Houthis have had to deal with such a threat. We will learn in the near future what is being used.
This is a new capability being demonstrated. Unclear if launched by the YNA or Saudis.
It’s hard for me to say whether all these statements are just political posturing, but it would seem that there is a real, imminent problem - one serious enough to mobilize several European countries in such a short time.
The times ahead seem particularly bleak, and I hope I’m wrong. In any case, European governments and leaders seem concerned about something (presumably involving Russia) where we don’t know exactly what will happen or where it will take place.
The Swiss company Nestlé and the French company Auchan were apparently expropriated by Russia, which seized their assets and placed them under the control of a Russian company called “LEV Management” (and it would be interesting to see who is behind it and what ties it has to the government)
Is this a way of making it clear that there will be no return to normalcy with Russia in the future? As far as I recall, there are still many other European companies operating in Russia through subsidiaries.

Controversial take: I do not think we should have a Secretary of the Army who uncritically retweets Russian intelligence operations on his official government account.
Nehls: Ukraine is a very corrupt country…
PabloReports: How comfortable are you with this Russian oligarch paying for Don Jr.’s wedding in the Bahamas?
Nehls: I don’t know anything about that

This report on governments’ use of AI for offensive operations (cyber, influence, etc.) as well as their private-public ecosystem is extremely interesting.
As for the Central African Republic, this comes as no surprise to me. The system left behind by Prigozhin in this country, where internet penetration is very low, is nonetheless necessary and also aligns with the way the Wagner Group and the Russian state exercise control over the country.
We are witnessing an evolution in the means of action, even if the underlying approach remains similar.
AI is accelerating all of this to an underestimated level, and this report is very informative.
Among the revelations everyone should read in this report:
🇨🇳 CHINA :
• Copied Claude at huge scale to train Chinese AI models • Used Claude to watch social media, find critics, and track people overseas • One government office replaced its human analysts with Claude • Multiple companies hacked • Used Claude to help write software for weapons
🇷🇺 RUSSIA :
• Used Claude like an automated hacking team against Ukraine and Europe (targetting members of governments, military, diplomats) • AI rewrote malware when antivirus caught it • Phishing, hotel Wi-Fi traps, WhatsApp takeovers • Stole drone tech • Tried to design kamikaze drone swarms • Ran influence / propaganda campaigns
🇮🇷IRAN :
• Built tools to spy on Iranians (thousands of people profiled) • Made a fake browser add-on to steal identities • Used Claude to pick U.S. Navy targets • Built a domestic surveillance system • Ran propaganda campaigns
🇲🇱MALI :
• One consultant built a nationwide phone-spying system with Claude • Watched about 25 million SIM cards from all mobile operators • Made target files without the usual court-order step
🇾🇪YEMEN :
• A group in the north used Claude as their software engineer • Worked on a guided rocket, a long-range ballistic missile, and a hypersonic missile design
🇹🇷TURKEY :
• Ran online influence campaigns (same type of election-timed propaganda as Russia and Iran)
Police in #Germany have arrested Daniel V. (48) the suspected power-grid #saboteur who was wanted across Europe.
- He was taken into custody on Tuesday during a traffic check in Weisweiler near Aachen, #NRW.
- He was on foot and tried to go around a police barrier when officers recognized him.
- He was carrying explosive devices at the time of his arrest. Officers also found a tent in nearby undergrowth that contained additional explosive charges. He did not resist arrest.
- The arrest came a day after new explosive devices were discovered near a power plant in the Aachen area and a new confession letter appeared.
- Authorities say Daniel V. used homemade rockets to fire thin conductive wire over high-voltage lines in an attempt to cause short circuits. The method succeeded in at least two cases
- Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt described the acts as “climate #terrorism” by a lone perpetrator.
- My two cents:
- If the current assessment holds — a lone perpetrator, with no foreign involvement — the vulnerability Daniel V. exploited would still matter to Moscow, or to anyone else watching and interested in disruption.
- His arrest closes an active threat against German energy infrastructure, but it also underlines how fragile high-voltage networks can be.
- This spat of attacks raises hard questions. If a single person with homemade rockets, conductive wire, and additional explosives was able to do this, then the physical security of substations and overhead lines is weaker than many assume.
- The grid can be disrupted without hacking, without military-grade weapons, and without a large cell—only access, timing, and a simple conductive short.
- The next test is whether operators harden the obvious targets faster than the next likeminded person or malign foreign actor copies the method. https://t.co/IJO2hPofJa
Today is the 2nd anniversary of the largest-ever Israeli landing operation in #Syria.
120 IDF commandos, flown in by helicopters, landed near Masyaf (W. #Hama) at an underground missile-manufacturing facility linked to Iran.
Roads leading to the site were bombed to block pro-Assad reinforcements - attack left at least 16 dead, mostly guards protecting the facility.
See: https://t.co/aizFODtEN1
The commandos entered the underground complex, seized documents & materials - and ultimately blew up the facility with explosives placed inside.
The video of the unprecedented operation, which lasted 2.5 hours, was released one month after Assad's fall.
