I'm looking for Mario Kart Wii's first special ghost, distributed (exclusively?) to Japanese Wiis back in 2008.

If you have it, please DM here or in Discord!

Here's the code behind this. Note that Peach's animation was was modded to be frozen here, to make the effect easier to see (the ponytail movements are controlled by code)

In Mario Kart 7’s vehicle select screen, Peach’s ponytail subtly shifts aside when previewing gliders with a rear pole to avoid clipping. This is, all gliders except for Paraglider and Swopper
This doesn't happen in-race: the hair'll shift even when using a glider without a pole
@thetreyceratops In this video, I'm in GCN Peach Beach's first competition / tournament (which originally took place in July 2009), as it has two item boxes that only have green shells, making this oddity easier to perform.

While it's technically possible to do this on any game mode, it's much easier to do it in GCN Peach Beach's first competition (as shown in the video), by using its Green shell-only itemboxes.

In Mario Kart Wii, it's possible to push Cataquacks towards a certain direction by hitting them constantly with an item.
Doing this enough times allows you to move the Cataquack out of bounds, making it impossible for them to return back to its original position.
@dee_durag At the moment I don't really know the exact details, but one thing that I know that wasn't showcased in this video is that Cataquacks won't attempt to chase you at all (even when they should) if they're very far away (by >= 7000 units?) from they're original position.
In Mario Kart 7, snow can make the game (very appropriately) freeze. Driving in and out out of the tunnel on DS DK Pass to make snow start and stop quickly will overload the game's GPU with snow, freezing the game.
While it's technically possible to do this on any game mode, it's much easier to do it in GCN Peach Beach's first competition (as shown in the video), by using its Green shell-only itemboxes.

@Pengu0n@MarioBrothBlog The goats at TCRF thankfully have it all documented, but the gist is that it’s an older header format that mainly shifts everything by four bytes and causes literally everything to be read wrong.
Fix it and yes, this track is literally the exact same down to the byte to loser
Mario Kart Wii contains an unused track that looks so corrupted that most videos do not have the bitrate necessary to properly convey how corrupted it is. However, its textures are merely in the wrong format. Changing the format reveals the track looks completely normal.
In Mario Kart Wii, the Thunder Cloud item can be passed off to other players. While this appears to be able to go on forever, there is actually an internal limit to this. After being passed around 255 times, the cloud will have had enough and strike the last player to receive it.
Zelda researcher and translator extraordinaire @glitterberri has at long last unearthed the Adult Link mask previously only ever seen in early Majora's Mask screenshots!

Mario Kart Wii has a plethora of ways to dodge the Blue Shell without requiring a Mushroom item, as seen in the videos below.

With that said, let's take a quick look into some of the code behind Blue Shells in VS races 👇
Just like Red Shells and Green Shells, it is possible for a Blue Shell to break on a banana. Although it is incredibly tricky to pull off. The video below shows an example.
The game doesn't seem to give you "invincibility frames" when correctly dodging the item using a Mushroom ("invincibility" as in being totally immune to damage). Rather, it appears to make it explode early, or at a slightly longer distance behind the player than normal.
