@tradeinforeign@tv3_ghana Bro last year we were seriously hit by the influx of foreign animals during Eid period . We couldn’t even sell our livestock.
@EnyonamManye We always buy cassava peels or plantain peels from these gari processors and plantain chips sellers. You can cross check from them unless maybe in that area no cattle farms around .
The events of Monday were a stark reminder that you can’t outrun your problems.
I saw a tweet from @Shejackiesays that said in Ghana, no one is really trying to fix the problems; everyone is just trying to make enough money so the problems don’t apply to them. To a large extent, that’s true.
But it’s also true that if the problems are never fixed, society eventually collapses in on itself, and at that point, your money can’t save you.
Just look at the gridlock on Monday. No matter how rich you are or what car you drive, if you stepped out to use the road, you were caught in it. Imagine getting a medical emergency in that chaos. Not even a dispatch rider could clear the road for any vehicle to move. There was simply nowhere to go.
Now imagine if we had developed alternative transport systems like rail. Both rich and poor could have parked their cars and used public transport to move around.
That’s why leadership must be about long-term thinking. We have to build resilient systems and diversify our infrastructure so society works for everyone.
It’s quite clear that our cities have outgrown the Trotro system. At least, Accra has. What drastic thing are we doing about it? Instead of decongesting the roads, our brilliant idea is to add more buses to it.
I sympathize with you and the Police must deal with this specific crime.
But to describe a whole ethnic group, so many of them citizens of this country as animals is the kind of dehumanizing language that leads to undesirable consequences.
It's terrible you and your workers had to go through that, and we must insist that the Police deals with all crimes and treat it as crimes purely, but let's not get into the habit of using such words against the entirety of an ethnic group.
And also, let's not take matters into our own hands - that will just lead to chaos.
@Shejackiesays Lately that stretch is always choked but the funny thing is after the kantanka show room area the road is clear. The main cause of the traffic is the traffic light at Melcom and also the exit at kantanka show room which has a big pothole slowing down cars using Achimita forest.
@eddie_wrt We tell our leaders that we need a working railway but the prefer to build roads rather than a working train. Hmmmm. We need to demonstrate serious in order to get a good railway system from Accra to Kumasi .
@Cassielforson We need a big push for a railway line from Accra to Nsawam. This will help decongest Accra and improve delivery of food stuffs from farms to the central district of Accra.
@poswura@SIKAOFFICIAL1 You will never see Muslims making any allegations when Christians names are mentioned during crimes. Gentleman we are one Ghana and we should stop that stigmatization. Our religion is our country.
@OleleSalvador Nkrumah wanted to develop around the black star square with big hotels…..but it didn’t materialize. They called the area the meridian drive.
