🚨🎙️ Roberto De Zerbi reveals how he brought Sandro Tonali to #THFC: 👀🇮🇹
“The story is very simple. I saw Sandro wanted to leave before the end of the season, maybe before our Chelsea game, and we have one friend in common, he's the team manager of Brescia.
I read one story about Sandro which said 'Tonali is leaving Newcastle in the summer', and I sent a message to my friend to say 'hey, inform Sandro, if we stay up, I go to him'. ✅🤝
After 10 minutes, my friend answered 'I said to Sandro and he's open'. I said now we have to win one game to stay up! I watched Newcastle's game against West Ham, 90 minutes like this (indicates sweat pouring down his face), and Sandro played very well in the first half.
I said to myself 'if I stay up, I come to you, I come to you, I come to you!” ✍️

De Zerbi: "Maddison has a small problem and I said I don't want to take any risks with anyone on this tour. He had a serious injury last season." https://t.co/31lrBvZ0n1
#thfc Roberto De Zerbi on Conor Gallagher:
“I consider Conor a top player and a top guy. I think he it is more important to me a good guy than good player, but he is both.
"When Conor is good and in a good condition, we play with one player more because he is like two players."
🎙️ Ben Davies on Luca Williams-Barnett:
“He's a really top player. He's got a lot of potential. I think you can see the qualities that he's got.
I think the next step is developing his habits in the game but to have a player like him that's got no fear, that has the confidence to try things in games, doesn't get affected if he loses the ball. I think he's got a bright future ahead of him.”

Marcos Senesi started life as a Spurs player and was joined by new teammates Rodrigo Bentancur and Pape Matar Sarr after their 2026 World Cup exploits.
The Argentina international received a late call-up for his nation for the major tournament and featured twice in the United States, Canada and Mexico, including a substitute appearance in the final as he lost out 1-0 to Pedro Porro's Spain in extra time.
Becoming our second signing of the summer on 10 June following the expiration of his contract with AFC Bournemouth, Marcos did not travel on pre-season tour given his participation to the very end of the World Cup and was at Hotspur Way for the very first time on Thursday to start testing.
Our new number 5 had company in the form of Rodrigo and Pape - who represented Uruguay and Senegal respectively during the finals - as the two midfielders were on hand to welcome our new recruit to the club and start their pre-season having been granted extended leave following their World Cup appearances.
