In your hardship, you will find a teacher; in your self-doubt, you will find a teacher; in your darkest moment, you will find a teacher. When you feel abandoned, you will find a teacher. When you least expect it, you will find a teacher. When no one believes in you, you will find a teacher. When all seems lost, you will find a teacher. And that teacher will uplift you, feed your soul, and guide you through all of your challenges.

Ifa is wisdom, Ifa is knowledge.
Ifa is the word of Orunmila, who has learned everything directly from Olodumare (Fate, he/she creator of all things).
Ifa teaches us that, for a person to have a good life on earth, they must align its own destiny, that is to know what have been chosen before incarnating in this lifetime.
This is done having ITEFA (Ifa initiation) where, through a ritual that lasts several days, you will discover in which Odu Ifa came the person. Each of us in fact born in an Odu Ifa, or vortex of energies that, when combined, shapes our destiny: who we are, what we do, what we should not do, which Orisa are near to us, which Orisa support us, how will be our lives and to which societies we belong to in the sky.
Ifa teaches the ability to shape and improve every aspect of our lives, teaches peace, respect and help people.
Ifa teaches that through divination is possible to maintain alignment with your own destiny. That’s why the importance of frequent divinations, especially for those unfamiliar with their own Odu Ifa birth.
Who are the Orisa?
The Orisa are energies, forces of nature that have contributed and are part of the same creation.
They are powers that men imagine and see how the demi-gods or anthropomorphic spirits.
Even the Orisa, like humans and animals, plants, minerals and inanimate things, are born under an Odu Ifa.
Then…
Ifa is the completeness of creation, of all that was, that is right now, and that will be tomorrow.
Those who live in Ifa live in the teachings of Orunmila, they chant the Odu Ifa and keep alive this ancient tradition celebrating festivities, holy days and constant ceremonies.
Here is basic info concerning :
Isefa, Itefa, Idafa, Ise Ifa/Akose.
*Isefa is to receive one hand of Ifa. This happens if due to one reason or the other, the person could not be fully initiated at the present time, and it’s important for such a person to have Ifa, so the person will receive one hand of Ifa.
-It’s also done when Ifa says that a new born needs to have Ifa immediately, so one hand of Ifa will be made for such a baby.
*Itefa: this is the complete process of Ifa initiation. Such person enters the Igbodu, gets their hair shaved and all the other rites are done accordingly.
*Idafa: this simply means Ifa consultation, the process of seeking clarification on things we could not understand. We get this from Ifa through a competent Babalawo.
*Ise Ifa/Akose: this is the work that come after Ebo and it’s done only if it is required by Odu. It’s done to ease all negativity, it’s done for the betterment of the person who went for consultation.
Akose could be for financial stability, victory, favor and so on.
*Akose is also done even without consultation. This is part of the scientific aspect of Ifa, where nature comes to play an important role with the use of leaves and plants. Roots, water, seeds and all aspects of nature come together to perform wonders for man’s purpose.
It’s important to note that doing Itefa/Isefa doesn’t mean you will automatically have all the wealth in this world, but rather Ifa promised one thing, that such person will never lack.
It doesn’t mean you won’t face challenges and obstacles, but rest assured, that you will always be victorious.
