Respectfully, please read the post again.
Nobody said ALL meetings should be behind closed doors. The point is that NOT EVERY MEETING REQUIRES UNIVERSAL ACCESS.
The Upper Room that birthed the Pentecostal outpouring was not a public gathering. About 120 people were gathered there. Jesus Himself ministered to multitudes, seventy, twelve, and sometimes only three.
Selective access is not automatically secrecy, manipulation, or a “bad precedent.” Sometimes it is simply biblical wisdom.
The issue is not open doors versus closed doors. The issue is knowing what belongs to the multitude, what belongs to the disciples, and what belongs to a smaller room.
Let’s stay on point, please.
Why immediately reach for extreme language like “deceive you” and “cult”?
No one is deceiving anybody.
This is simply an admonition that we should examine our motives and recover the biblical wisdom of knowing WHO a particular meeting or communication is for.
Yes, Jesus said:
“What I tell you in darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops.” Matthew 10:27.
Absolutely.
But that same Jesus did not conduct every conversation publicly.
So let us allow ALL Scripture to speak.
Jesus taught the multitudes, but He also said to His disciples:
“To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.” Matthew 13:11.
After speaking publicly, “when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples.” Mark 4:34.
That is a closed meeting.
At the Transfiguration, Jesus took only Peter, James and John up the mountain, and then specifically instructed them:
“Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man is risen from the dead.” Matthew 17:9.
That is restricted communication.
When Jairus’ daughter was raised, Jesus “put them all outside” and took only the parents and selected disciples into the room. Mark 5:37, 40.
That is controlled access.
Even in Gethsemane there were different levels of proximity. Jesus came with the disciples, left some at one location, then took Peter, James and John farther with Him. Matthew 26:36–37.
So PRIVATE IS NOT AUTOMATICALLY CULTIC.
And PUBLIC IS NOT AUTOMATICALLY BIBLICAL.
Yes, Paul’s address to the Ephesian elders was eventually recorded in Scripture. But that does not change the historical fact that Paul specifically “sent to Ephesus and called for the elders of the church.” Acts 20:17.
He selected his immediate audience.
Furthermore, not everything Paul said was preserved for public consumption.
Paul taught the Ephesians for THREE YEARS, “night and day with tears.” Acts 20:31. Acts does not give us transcripts of three years of meetings.
Jesus Himself did and said vastly more than the Gospels record:
“There are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books.” John 21:25.
So the argument was never:
“Nothing should be public.”
That would obviously be unscriptural.
The argument is:
NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE PUBLIC.
Not every church service needs to be livestreamed.
Not every ministers’ meeting needs to be uploaded.
Not every leadership conversation needs to become a clip.
Not every sacred moment needs an internet audience.
And the real issue I raised remains unanswered:
WHY MUST EVERYTHING BE ONLINE?
Would we still preach with the same passion without cameras?
Would we still organise the meeting if nobody could repost it?
Would we still consider the gathering successful if the only people who heard it were the people it was actually meant for?
Those are questions about MOTIVE, not secrecy.
Of course closed doors can be abused. Leaders must remain accountable, and secrecy must never become a cover for manipulation, abuse or unbiblical practices.
But Scripture does not give us only two options:
LIVESTREAM OR CULT.
There is a thoroughly biblical third category:
WISELY DISCERNED AUDIENCE.
Jesus knew when to speak to 5,000.
He knew when to speak to the disciples.
He knew when to take three.
And He knew when to say:
“TELL NO ONE.”
Perhaps our digital generation needs enough humility to admit that Jesus knew something about audience that the algorithm does not.
If anyone serves as a good example of being a FAN does not MEAN you know the rules of the game nor APPLY it consistently, the UK's PM is a good case study
1) Comments on Everton point deduction in 2003
2) Calls for return of alcohol drinking in stadiums
3) #Citygate comments
The PM of the UK chose to insert himself and/or his government into a matter that was going through the proper channels.
Now, No10 is doing cleanup around different platforms 'shalaying' what he meant vs what we said
In footie terms, he scored an own goal for sure!
Dear Ministers,
Going forward, we may need to rediscover the ministry of the CLOSED DOOR.
Not every meeting needs a camera.
Not every conversation needs an audience.
Not every revelation needs a livestream.
And perhaps the question we should begin asking is:
WHO EXACTLY ARE WE LIVESTREAMING TO?
Jesus ministered to multitudes, but He did not give everybody equal access.
There were the 5,000.
There were the 70.
There were the 12.
And there were the 3.
Peter, James and John saw things others did not see.
The Transfiguration was not livestreamed.
Jairus’ daughter’s room was not opened to the crowd.
Gethsemane had levels of access.
Jesus could speak publicly to the multitude and then privately explain things to His disciples.
Why?
Because PUBLICITY IS NOT THE SAME THING AS IMPACT.
Paul understood this too.
When he wanted to deliver one of the most consequential pastoral addresses of his ministry, he sent for the elders of the church at Ephesus. Acts 20:17.
It was targeted.
It was relational.
It was weighty.
The risen Lord had messages specifically addressed to the seven churches in Asia. Revelation 2–3.
Paul wrote Timothy to Timothy.
Luke wrote Theophilus to Theophilus.
Scripture itself teaches us that sometimes the audience is part of the message.
Our generation must therefore resist the strange assumption that if something happened and the internet did not see it, somehow it did not happen.
Some meetings should have no cameras.
Some conversations should have no clips.
Some instructions should remain within the room.
Some sacred moments should never become content.
Because in our desperation to trend, we may unwittingly have turned pearls into content and then complained when people who were never the intended audience mishandled them.
Jesus warned:
“Do not...cast your pearls before swine.” Matthew 7:6.
The problem is not always the pearl.
Sometimes the problem is the audience.
And algorithms do not discern audiences.
They distribute.
Perhaps the next great move of God will require ministers secure enough to have powerful meetings that nobody online knows happened.
No livestream.
No clips.
No viral moments.
No pressure to prove that something happened.
Just God.
His people.
His Word.
His presence.
His instructions.
And the fruit will eventually speak.
We will have serious meetings again.
We will close some doors again.
We will recover sacred spaces again.
And we will do valiantly.
Enough said.

@Omojuwa ONLY if that is all the sanction is.
Any team can win promotion BUT if the sanction package for #Citygate is MEGA i.e. relegation+large points deduction+... that changes things
PSA: In ALL sports, on-field achievements are BACKED by numerous off-field activities!
Again, achievements on THE PITCH are USUALLY tied to many tasks (visible & otherwise) performed OFF THE PITCH!!
Nice try to deflect the conversation. But no, I won't take the bait.
As a Man City fan, I really understand your pain. Trust me I do. This is not your fault. If I were in your shoes, I will say the same thing and try to deflect the conversation. But this is about your leadership (owner and management) who have brought disrepute to your club and placed an asterisk on everything you've won in the past 10 - 15 years. It is really not fair to the fans.
That said, if it was Arsenal that cheated and broke financial rules, the entire universe of sports included the FBI, CIA and the MI5 would be up in arms asking not only for our expulsion from football, but the liquidation of the club.
Sham FC must not go unpunished. 😊
We heard/read of coaches & managers in the past creating an "us vs them" mentality that binds their team together and propels them to on-field success.
Listened to this and.......🤔🤨😁
To knowingly present FALSE financial records and HIDE things from auditors is a BIG deal! #Citygate
Owners investing in clubs is ENCOURAGED but guidelines on this EXIST for a reason and it becomes a 'jungle' if the new wave of billionaire owners can JUST ignore & DATP
In #Citygate, there are lessons for other sports on
1) Pitfalls of having nation-states as ownership
2) Protecting the playing field so, competition stays fair & equitable without becoming ONLY the rich can win
The Allure of big money is REAL BUT comes with RISKS!!!
English Football clubs going into Administration or Insolvent since the Premier League begin:
1992–2003 - 38 (3.17 per year)
2004–2011 - 16 (2.00 per year)
2012–2026 - 9 (0.60 per year)
1992–2003: the early Premier League era, before the Football League had introduced some of its stronger insolvency deterrents.
2004–2011: after measures such as points deductions for administration, fit-and-proper-person tests, and salary controls had started appearing, but before the modern FFP/PSR era.
2012–2026: the period broadly associated with UEFA FFP, Championship FFP, and later Premier League profitability/sustainability rules.
The lies these rules were created to solely protect big clubs is dangerous, misleading and vile. Professional pundits and media outlets pushing it should be ashamed.
❌ "It's over for that ownership!"
🔚 "There is no salvation... their entire reputation is ruined!"
Simon Jordan insists Man City's owners are finished in the Premier League after the bombshell news of "sham" contracts! 😳
@yinkanubi It's beyond 😲 the arrogance BUT should NOT be a surprise given his own involvement in @Barca refgate while he was part of the leadership team.
Perhaps, this is JUST all part of strategy to mitigate the INCOMING mega sanctions package that is enroute to @ManCity
One part claims irrefutable evidence BUT didn't IT present SAME throughout the investigation process that dragged out owing to its antics.
Anyway, beyond the INCOMING mega sanctions package for @ManCity, serious root & branch reforms needed to avoid future occurrence #Citygate
In 2018, I was part of a Team that was delivering LLIN Distributions in parts of Nigeria with Technology.
Separate from all the logistics of how do you buy, Charge and manage 6000+ Phones, is the technology one.
How do you set them up.
Yesterday I set up a new work phone by tapping the welcome screen six times and pointing it at a printed QR code.
It joined our Wi-Fi, enrolled itself in Intune, installed its apps and asked the user to sign in.
I took a break while it did that, in that break I was struck with a wave of Nostalgia.
Back then we explored many solutions, we even briefly played with Samsung Knox, because that was what the devices came with and it looked like the obvious answer.
SK did not survive contact with the field. Too fiddly to manage at that scale and too dependent on the handset.
We moved everything to AirWatch, which at least gave us one console and policies we could push. That was the platform that secured the fleet in the end.
But initial enrolment was still about having the right person, a box cutter and a spreadsheet. Wi-Fi password typed by hand. Email settings frequently typed by hand.
Apps installed one at a time. Asset sticker. Next phone. Somebody fat-fingers the password on unit 400 and you only hear about it when the field team rings from a village with no signal. We got there. It took weeks.
I can still smell that many cardboard boxes in one room.
We can have a technical argument about whether or not Intune is the best tool for this, but what is clear is that things have changed.
What has changed is that the person on the bench is no longer the source of truth.
The QR code carries the network, the token and the policy. The platform does the rest, and it does it identically on phone 1 and phone 6,000. Every manual step that disappears is a step nobody can get wrong, skip, or write on a sticky note.
I would take the 2026 way every time. I would not give back the memory of the other one. No Certification can teach you what the logistics and experience of such a large project can.
If you have ever stood in a room with a few thousand boxes of anything, you know.

If they have a body of irrefutable evidence, as they say, then this verdict would not be this damning. If they appeal, they HAVE to win on the evidence, not on the procedure/technicalities etc. The only way the club will ever be legitimate again is when the ownership changes.
Have you ever had one party sign up to a contract/deal ONLY to knowingly breach the signed agreement and when 'caught', strenuously CONTEST the legality of said contract/deal and/or claim bias on the part of the regulator!
#ManCitygate
As someone who reads and writes these types of statements and court/panel decisions for a living, if you believe the story the club is spinning right now, I have a bridge in London to sell you.
