If you ask a Midwesterner “how’s it going” and they reply “it’s going” or “well I’m here” it’s a desperate cry for help that roughly translates to “I need to go stand in traffic”
@marjeanius Tbh I did have to Google this specific episode BUT this episode did hit hard esp for those of us growing up using the ferry and generally spending time in Seattle
Bruce Farnsworth, owner of Pat's Pizza in Orono, Maine, passed away today. Anybody who spent any time in Orono in the past 40 years probably found their way to Pat's, where they would have seen Bruce working behind the counter or greeting customers. He was a good old Mainer. RIP.
I took my child to the humane society in order to gauge what kinds of kittens he was drawn to, because I was thinking about adopting two kittens in a few months. Was intending on bringing his older brother the next day after school.
Well.
Working in healthcare is nuts I have friends who are like 10 years younger than me and friends that are 20 years older than me and we all still make poop jokes
If you're writing a book set in rural Scotland and all your characters go by their given names, I hate to break it to ya, but you're doing your readers a disservice.
Here's some examples of real people all from one village around 1900-1930: 🧵
