Hyliion, the Austin company that walked away from electric trucking to build the KARNO Power Module, a fuel agnostic linear generator that runs on more than 20 fuels from natural gas to hydrogen to diesel while meeting Tier 4 emissions with no after treatment.
It is modular, scaling from 200kW cores up to multi megawatt systems, and aimed squarely at data centers, defense and industrial prime power.
Still pre revenue, with commercialization targeted for year end 2026.

The $HYLN regulatory moat almost nobody's talking about:
The EPA formally ruled that KARNO is NOT classified as an internal combustion engine under federal law — meaning zero federal approval required for deployment.
Most generators must clear both federal EPA oversight AND local air permitting. KARNO only needs local. That's a dramatically faster path to the field.
And then the emissions numbers themselves:
→ Diesel: Tier 4 Final — no SCR, no DPF, no DEF
→ Natural gas: <2.5 PPM NOx — meets SCAQMD Rule 1110.3, one of the toughest air standards in the US
No aftertreatment. On either fuel.

So how does the KARNO work?
KARNO is based on Stirling engine technology, a concept invented nearly 200 years ago.
The idea is simple: You have a trapped gas, you heat it up, and it expands.
Think of a balloon. If you apply heat to it, it grows. Cool it down quickly, and it shrinks.
That expansion and contraction is what we use to move a piston.
And that motion is what enables KARNO to produce electricity. @Hyliion
