Tomorrow is a big day for Tamil Nadu as the Assembly elections take place. For more than last 60 years, the state has been ruled by just two major parties. Let’s hope that this time, we witness some change.

This will be my third time voting in a Tamil Nadu Assembly election, but the level of excitement I feel now is something I’ve never experienced before. The reason is one man, whom I have admired since childhood and grown up watching. He chose to walk away from a hugely successful career, not for fame or money, because he already had it all, but to stand up for the people of Tamil Nadu, for truth and against corruption. At a time when most would choose comfort and security, he chose responsibility.

Entering politics is never easy, especially when taking on deeply rooted and well-established forces. There will always be resistance and attempts to bring you down at every step. We’ve seen big announcements from senior actors in the past, promises of change and new beginnings, but many eventually stepped back, disappointing their supporters or choosing more convenient paths, with some even aligning with the parties they once criticized.

In contrast, Vijay has stepped in on his own, funding his campaigns with his own resources, standing firm in his decision and taking on the challenge head-on. In a remarkably short span of time, he has built a structure strong enough to field candidates across all 234 constituencies. That courage to commit and attempt to make a real difference truly deserves respect. Even if things don’t go his way this time, my support for him will remain strong for as long as he continues this journey.

Hoping for a big win for my Annan, 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗩𝗶𝗷𝗮𝘆 and for Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in this election.
