Graduated college student. Author of The Loving Dead. Recipient of the Belle M. Hill Creative Poetry Award. I love writing, reading, and everything creative.
Thank you, I have been considering the idea of self publishing, especially since querying often leads to dead ends where I get brushed or get no reply.
Not trying to be rude or anything, but honestly, querying is worse than trying to get a 9 to 5 job. Most of the time I at least get responses in a semi-timely manner.

***************************
This is a semi-dark poem based on the trending song "Flightless Bird". If you have been on YouTube or TikTok lately, then you know what I am talking about.
***************************
Flightless
His captors had called him,
“Flightless!”
Practically a condemnation of death.
The well had rough brick walls,
Black mold coated onto grey and red stone,
Sparkling spider webs clustered in corners,
Murky black water circled his feet.
Chains hung him to the walls,
Hooks were attached to them.
Hooks,
Curved like fangs.
Hooks,
As cold as ice.
Speared into his useless wings,
Shrunken wings.
They were the size of his rather petite hands,
Coated in yellow downy feathers,
Too thin to provide warmth,
Fall out in pollen-like clumps,
Into the slimy water below.
“Whoever said a thing with wings had to fly?”
Was asked a lot,
By a mousy little boy.
His hand-sized wings unable to even flap,
Featherless,
Revealing peach pink wrinkled flesh,
Flabby,
Fat clinging and jiggling to those appendages.
His captors had called him,
“Flightless!”
He was sentenced to die,
For a flightless like him was a burden to the flock.

To those who do not know, I have now officially graduated. For most of this month (after the 15th) I have been spending time with family and just chilling. It feels nice to have wrapped up college!
#Christian#Bible#BibleStories#StoriesWellTold#Stories#Writing
This is a legitimate curiosity question but what is your favorite story in the Bible?
Mine is Samson and Delilah. Because...
1) Samson is a doof but still is an overall good person even if he messes up.
2) Samson faces hardships (like being betrayed by his girlfriend) that most of us can relate with.
3) Samson does own up to his wrongs and makes up for them, so he is not a hypocrite.
P.S.
I am Christian, by the way, I just do not mention it often.
