significant number of landslides leading to extreme impacts. At this stage, a detailed inventory of the damage reported on these two sites is not yet accurate and research is done to propose a statistical range of damage to stakeholders for sustainable decision-making.

The flash floods of May 4-5, 2023 caused tangible damage to the population and buildings in the northwestern part of Lake Kivu, specifically in the rural areas of Bushushu and Nyamukubi in the Kalehe/Southern Kivu-DRC territory. 1/3
