Awareness is protective; the right knowledge prevents further abuse by empowering individuals to report it & raise their voices against it. This can only be achieved through proper, comprehensive sex-ed.

@WordAccordingly @thokkathotakura It offers a more nuanced message about consent, boundaries & knowledge about our own bodies, healthy relationships which fosters environments that discourage abusive behaviors, reduces coercive behavior, and increases reporting and accountability for sexual violence.

In fact, sex-ed has proven to have numerous positive outcomes such as reducing sexual violence and risky sexual behaviour. It rather equips with the knowledge to engage in healthy, consensual relationships.
