@Ascii211@softminus The first cruise missile was invented in WWI and was basically a bomb with a propellor and wings and today everyone is talking about Shaheds. Theyโre even similar in price and warhead weight when adjusted for inflation
@atonal440 The Soviet missile spam has always been reliant on overwhelming computers as well but now with datalink and AESA, that may no longer be the case. supersonics have tradeoffs while stealth has less so long as you can keep and maintain the coatings affordably
tbh with proliferation of AESA radar and missile interceptors, I think stealthy subsonic missiles are going to become more important than supersonics or hypersonics.
LRASM:
$400 million for 89 additional missiles across all services, for a total of 238.
$200 million for second engine source (applies to JASSM-ER too).
$118 million for C-3 development, 4QFY26 EOC date.
$62 million to expand production capacity from 240/y to 320/y.

@The_Wisco_Hawk@constans They technically deplaned into an empty airport terminal. Still, if someone told me double overtime to make these people coffee and distribute blankets, I would have gone back.
How to cross a street under fire.
This clip from a 1943 British instructional film from the Second World War explains how to cross a street quickly and safely under enemy fire.
Film: IWM DRA 433
I did some very rough math, as I do. It cost the city ~$20 per intersection cleared (4 corners) in labor ($30/hour), including one union San Man supervisor on overtime for 20 labor workers. (rough mat: clearing 1 bus stop is = ~ to 3 intersection corners = ~15 fire) (1/2)
@jorfolle@WilliamValk2003 yeah NY requires you to produce a curriculum, the local school to approve it, and take state Regents tests every year to show youโre on track. Tho I think this was mostly meant for the Mennonites.
@wiseguy_ocb@archaicf0ssil sisko does yell at worf for being too aggressive but it turned out it was a Klingon plot and later on says he will probably suffer career consequences for something else but in both cases Sisko says he gets it.
