@BradRTorgersen I used to jokingly call my version of the Bechdel test checking books to see if the hero asked about good fishing and hunting spots before leaving the spaceport on any new planet, with a bonus if they brought their own rod and reel and frying pan. That kind of pulp is long gone
@JonahDispatch So you really don't know about the months of negotiations that led to the signing of those unconditional surrender treaties? You think they just sprang into being from the aether or something? This is a bad pile to jump on dude
@GambelerQuail The amount of people who aren't aware that Japan and Germany spent months negotiating their surrenders is a little surprising. Like how do you think a surrender document, unconditional or otherwise happens? A magic light in the sky?
@zarathustra5150 Wait until he finds out the Nazi's paramilitary arm was a self defense group formed to protect them from violent communist street actions
@SaintsForecast Martin was one of the best pass rushing interior defensive linemen in league history but he played at a time when that wasn't valued by the media so no one really knew. Former LSU great Henry Thomas had the same issue.
@nexta_tv Shakespeare would have loved this! He wrote Romeo and Juliet as a farcical comedy, it wasn't until later that people started taking it seriously.
@ConsulofRome_ Charlemagne claimed descent from patricians but there is no proof either way. It was politically expedient to do so. Descent from him did matter until quite recently though, most western European royal houses are branches of Charlemagne's family.
@HistoryBoomer On top of their make believe constitutional right to abortion and trying to ban the death penalty the Burger Court made it nearly impossible to hold mentally ill people in asylums. Mass homelessness and open air drug encampments will not go away without the Court resetting
@Jringo1508 Suture would have been nice but how to remove 900 itty bitty pieces of glass from your forearm and do a fast and dirty field transfusion after you and your brother realized old fluorescent lightbulbs looked like light sabers and went at it would have been even better
@SaintsForecast Jimmy wouldn't block, and Unger was a top 3 C. But the pick was the make or break of that deal and it was wasted on a guy a lot of teams had graded as undraftable. Chasing picks when you are the worst drafting team in the league was a mistake.
@firstroundmock@FBallAnalysisYT I sometimes feel GM's and draft writers all feel that there has to be a QB1 and find some guy, any guy to fill that spot whether he's there or not. Maybe they should look over QB drafts from the 90's before each new cycle and remind themselves that it just doesn't always happen
@swatter911@DaylandPau95695 Great job both of you! This will sound weird to anyone who doesn't know but on behalf of your feet/ankles/knees/hips/back I appreciate you for this
@cremieuxrecueil This predates millennials. People collectively got sick of processed/canned/frozen in the mid 80's, cooking shows got very popular, and cultural food became interesting. There has been a steady 40 year increase in quality and variety in grocery stores and restaurants
@cremieuxrecueil@_djpn The homeless/mentally ill drug addict issue (the crossover is near 100%) was created by the US Supreme Court in the late 70's with multiple decisions that made it virtually impossible to institutionalize insane people. The bad rulings have to be overturned to address this issue
