garam is turning his hatred and loathing for heejae into a personal drive to achieve perfection and i think that it's so well-portrayed
and at the same time, this is when they start to become intertwined without even realizing it

and all this is doing to garam is make him think that he is lacking and a fraud and that he took the wrong path by choosing piano over what his parents were telling him. so he's pushing himself to his full capacity and beyond just to prove to heejae that he is good and worth it
