Sadly, it is popular in today's media & culture to bash and focus solely on everything that is wrong about the United States.

But like individuals & families, ALL nations have fallen short of the glory of God. America is not uniquely evil.

We can choose to thank God for the gift of being citizens of America & for the countless people who served & gave their lives to protect the freedoms we enjoy here. May we never take this blessing for granted.

We can thank God for our country and at the same time ask Him to right the wrongs and heal the brokenness.

Will you pray with me?

Lord God, give us hearts of gratitude for the many blessings we have received from you, as citizens of the United States. Thank you for all who have served and sacrificed for us. May the people of our nation humbly seek you, honor you, and recognize that all good gifts come from you. Remove evil and protect what is right in our country. Guide our leaders to make godly decisions. Guard us and keep people safe as we celebrate 250 years of being a nation. Let your justice, goodness, mercy, and forgiveness flow across this land, home to home and person to person. Holy Spirit, soften hearts so that many will turn to Christ & receive the best gift of all, salvation and heavenly citizenship. Help us reflect the truth, light, and love of Christ, so others are drawn to Him. God, please shed your grace on America and help us be a blessing to others. In Jesus' name. Amen.
