@steveconaway1 As a young guy I get these numbers but can’t get over the cash that makes it work. I don’t have to borrow money to invest in S&P, but have to take a note on a farm even with a young farmer loan.

I want to buy a farm (& plan to) but can’t get it to look this nice

@FarmrHuntr I’d say you need to either do it after planting or until V2/V3. Right after emergence would make me nervous on breaking things off but they’ll be fine later.

If killing with roundup watch that yellow stage when it’s kinda inbetween dead and growing. Not sure how it’ll crimp

@GGunthorp What are you guys doing with market lambs post weaning? Banding and turning back in with ewes or sticking them somewhere else?

@Cropwise1 If you’re applying at maintenance rates why not grain sample your field? You’ll never know without testing.

@gavin_spoor Hair ewes, get high quality & low maintenance stock, cull hard, have good electric fence (for sheep & dogs).

From my experience labor is what will get you into trouble with profitability. Get things dialed before get too big. Spring lamb, rotate them, watch your inputs.

@FullingSteve @ajmargenot I use it quite a bit on for the project - hardest part is getting a phone number for landowner or farmer. We have a sheet with all landowners & have sent some letters out but not much response on those
