Macklemore got fired for talking about Gaza. Theo Von said the quiet part out loud:
“Macklemore lost his job because he spoke up.”
“It feels like this is probably the biggest atrocity that we’ve witnessed in our lifetime on our phones.”
He made the distinction people pretend he didn’t: “The Israeli government… not the people of Israel. I’m not talking about Jewish people.”
Then he admitted the part nobody wants on camera: “We scroll past it on our phones. I do it. I do it too.”
“You can’t even get a 10-piece lemon pepper in Gaza because they stopped the food shipping.”
“They killed every reporter who was trying to report on the war.”
His close wasn’t political. It was a diagnosis.
“It’s a test to see how much uncomfort we can handle before we say something.”
