Friendly reminder to the ME/CFS community. Take blood markers with a grain of salt.
My B12 serum levels were through the roof - over 500% higher than the top end of range (due to oral supplementation). In reality, I reached a TERMINAL level of B12 deficiency (brain damage, nervous system damage, systemic organ damage).
Due to a genetic condition called congenital intrinsic factor deficiency (never been able to orally absorb B12 since birth) causing Pernicious Anemia and a cascade of issues.
In other words- I’m not able to utilize the b12 in my serum - need direct injections for life.
Specialist won’t catch this - a trained generalist who cares will! Now, I get to say “told you so” to all the doctors that actively watched me die…

@Riemerville Not this go round. but had great benefit from methylcobalamin (methylated b12) injections years ago when I had CFS. Thinking about trying them again
🚨BREAKING NEWS: Conservative MP Dean Allison Announces Inquiry into COVID-19 Vaccines🚨

Godspeed.
@evanfgeorge We apprexiate every update. I especially found the “not feeling run down or sick after coming in contact with people” interesting. It’s my biggest issue I haven’t been able to gain ground on. Brings me hope. 🙏
ALERT: Canadian man diagnosed with rare condition that gets him blackout drunk without drinking any alcohol.
Eric Poulin has spent the last decade experiencing episodes where he feels drunk but hasn't taken a sip of alcohol.
Poulin started having distressing periods where he would black out and have no recollection of what happened.
"I'd have the kids tell me things happened, that I was crying and saying I was going to die… I don't remember any of it."
Poulin was diagnosed with auto-brewery syndrome, a rare condition with only 100 cases ever reported, caused by an imbalance of microorganisms in a person's gut.
Since there are so few cases, the disease is hard to identify, diagnose, and treat, as Poulin has not had any success with methods such as reducing carbs or taking antifungal treatments to prevent this phenomenon.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen day to day, hour to hour, so that really leaves a lot of limitations on what I can do, where I can go, work, money, everything… My whole life has been flipped upside down by this."
Canada’s health care in a nutshell👇
4 years in a wheelchair before being given MRI that “confirmed spinal cord injury and paralysis from the chest down and parts of my arms.”
For the first time in FOUR YEARS since becoming quadriplegic after my COVID vaccine, I am finally seeing a neurologist in Canada.
Four years.
Even with MRI confirmed spinal cord injury and paralysis from the chest down and parts of my arms.
This is what “free healthcare” looks like in Canada.🇨🇦
Healthy people see someone cancel plans and think: they didn’t want to come.
Chronically ill people cancel plans and then spend the rest of the day grieving the thing they wanted to do.
We already picked out the outfit.
We already imagined the drive there, the coffee, the food, the laughter, seeing everyone.
Healthy people think, “There’s always next time.”
Chronically ill people think, “I hope my body lets me.”
People don’t realize that sometimes we don’t just miss the plans.
We miss the memories we were supposed to make.
@HouseLyndseyRN@HouseLyndseyRN thought I’d ask you - I just finished taking blood and putting it on slides. I put them in the fridge in the mailers after it dried. Is it ok if I wait a few days to mail it to Japan? Not feeling too hot at the moment to drive to post office lol
@zagreusrevival I simply upped it to five times a day at a high concentration in only 6-7oz water.
Instead of 3 times in 12-16oz. But will purchase inhalation machine is on my list after I relocate closer to the equator forsure. Hope you find something that helps 🙏
