@dread_davis@thevelvetsnunk@nigelreynolds@BBCNews Davis, I'm an ex swimming coach and I can fully assure you that water safety can initially be taught at home. Add in a short amount of time at the pool with very little resources, this can enhance a child's safety in and around water.
This all begins at home.
@dread_davis@thevelvetsnunk@nigelreynolds@BBCNews Jesus wept ya wombat, I'm not saying the blame should be anywhere.
I'm stating the fact that there's far too many people who expect the school system to raise their children.
@dread_davis@thevelvetsnunk@nigelreynolds@BBCNews Oh, where do the school take them if pools are closed?
Schools also charge for swimming lessons.
Unfortunately, that's not what schools do at all. We need to put more pressure on parents who have decided to have children, not teachers!
@thevelvetsnunk@nigelreynolds@BBCNews You don't need to be, basic swimming skills can be attained by just spending time in the water on a regular basis.
As an ex swimming coach, I can't stress enough how important it is to teach your kids to swim.
Do not leave it to the state. Take them yourself 2-3 times a month at the very least!
Returned this morning and finally got a CT scan.
Genuinely can't believe it's taken 3 days to get an "urgent" scan done.
Should have results in the next hour. Not holding my breath.
CT scan has come back fine.
Lost a fair bit of blood so iron is real low. Next step is a camera ๐ซ
Prednisolone suppositories and a lot of rest required for now.
I'm genuinely fucking fed up.
Spent a full day in SAU yesterday waiting for a CT scan which never happened.
Spent another full day in SAU today waiting for a CT scan that "will definitely happen" only to be told it's not happening today either.
About to self discharge!
Spoke with the senior doctor who has pushed my CT scan. He is concerned about pelvic collection and wants to make sure.
He offered his sincere apologies for the delay. I told him I understand the pressures the NHS are under, but must realise I am also frustrated.
Again we wait
@bottomlineibd The response was "CT are their own animal and their decision is final"
No, the surgeon referred me because of blood loss, high infection levels and really low iron.
